"We had a lovely refurbished room overlooking the bay. I hadn’t expected it to be as nice as it was. Are in the hotel at night, lots of vegetarian choices. Great stay; I will book here the next time we need to come to Gairloch"

Harbour House Bed & Breakfast

"We loved the view of the loch and harbour from our room! Great breakfast, comfortable bed and warm greeting upon arrival (with a welcome drink and snack). We stayed only the night before our ferry crossing to Lewis, but loved Ullapool. From the hotel, it was an easy walk to the town center with plenty of dining options. Unfortunately the next morning, we discovered that our rental car had been keyed in the parking lot. Despite this, a lovely town and highly recommended hotel."

Railway Cottage. Stromeferry

"The accommodation was quiet, private, and had a cozy, cabin-like feel. Having both a washer and dryer was a major plus, especially while traveling. The space is a little older and somewhat cluttered, which made it feel less fresh than some places we have stayed, though it may have been more about the age of the property than the actual cleanliness. The bedroom is upstairs while the bathroom is downstairs, so that is worth keeping in mind. Overall, it was a peaceful and private place to stay with some very useful amenities."

The Drumbeg Hotel

"Right from opening the door, we were welcomed by Richard and had a comfortable cute room.. we did have twin beds but we had had a long drive from Skye with many stops so it was welcome rest. The facility had a lot of space that was available to use and many interesting books and travel magazines to use for planning and learning purposes. Fiona made wonderful meals of local treats and I even tried a couple of Highland scotch from a well- stocked bar. I enjoyed the sites around very much! The Drumbeg loop was well-worth the extra time it took and weathering the storm at the Drumbeg Hotel was cosy and felt safe."

"This hotel is nice and close to the water front, so an easy walk to see it. Aside from the view across the lake, there's not a great deal to see though. There is hotel parking round the side (up a hill that leaves you level with the second floor on which the rooms reside). The hotel also has a bar and restaurant. Seating can be a little hit and miss in the bar as a lot of the seats are in the sun. The rest get snapped up very quickly. The bedroom itself was compact but functional but was also rather hot and no air con nor fan to help with that. We closed the very good blackout curtains in the day while out and had the windows open at night. However, it was also not possible to open the window much, so it took a long time to cool down. It was, however, cool enough to sleep OK a bit later. Breakfast was excellent and for once they even had herbal tea. We also ate dinner there which was also good. Aside from the hot room, it was a very good stay."
