A few of the 8000 terracotta warriors #lifeatexpedia
Now this place is awe inspiring …
The army was made to guard the mausoleum of the First Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang, who lived more than 2200 years ago. It is part of Qin Shi Huang’s tomb; it is located about 1.5 kilometers east of the Emperor QinShihuang’s mausoleum. The complete army was painted but on exposure to sun the paint quickly bled away. The majority of the army remains buried until they can discover a means to recover them in their original state. The Terracotta Army was discovered by local farmers in 1974 at Xian, in China, when they were digging a well. While most fled believing they'd discovered a dead body, one remained to unearth the discovery and is solely credited for the discovery. #InStone
