Expect a hotel of this standard and price to have a bar open to residents until a reasonable time, the last 3 times I have stayed here the staff stopped serving at 10.15 despite signage clearly stating that the bar is open until 11.00

Bedford resembles a northern town prior to regeneration. The town centre revolves around the bus station and its complex of 1960s architecture, a bit like Stockport. Groups of unsavoury looking characters hang around the town corners and alleys.
