Riverside Apartment in the heart of the Harbour Town of Aberaeron

River Aeron Retreat is a beautifully refurbished waterside apartment set within a charming period, Grade II listed building. The wider property was sensitively modernised in 2000, with the apartment itself thoughtfully updated again in 2017 to retain its character while offering modern comfort.

Perfect for two guests, this stylish apartment sits directly on the banks of the River Aeron in the heart of Aberaeron, a picturesque Georgian harbour town known for its colourful buildings and vibrant coastal charm. A wonderful selection of independent shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs are just steps from the door, and free, unrestricted residential street parking is conveniently located nearby.

Ideally positioned for exploring the West Wales coast and countryside, River Aeron Retreat sits midway along Cardigan Bay, equidistant to the market towns of Aberystwyth and Cardigan. The popular seaside village of New Quay is just 15 minutes away, offering beautiful beaches, dolphin-watching boat trips and a range of water sports.

Guests are perfectly placed for local attractions, including the National Trust’s Llanerchaeron estate, Cardigan Castle, the scenic Vale of Rheidol Railway to Devil’s Bridge, and the Wales Coast Path which passes right through Aberaeron.

The apartment was full of character, in an excellent location. If you're looking for something a bit different, this waterside apartment with a balcony and private outdoor space is a perfect retreat. Clean, fully equipped and interestingly decorated it's a great place to feel away from it all but with all the amenities of delightful Aberaeron one minute away. Couldn't fault it!

What a beautiful place. Everything you need is provided in apartment. So near the center and all shops. Sat outside on balcony watching all the wildlife (Ducks,Heron etc). The hosts are so welcoming and contact is swift. highly recommended.

This property is well suited for easy access to Aberaerons shops and restaurants. The kitchen was barely used but well equipped. The outdoor snug area was very nice cosy and comfortable. I would recommend and return.

Amazing cottage and location

This is a lovely cottage overlooking the river Aeron. Comfortable Warm and cosy with everything you need to either eat in or eat out at many nice restaurants in the town. Nice to watch the bird life up and down the river remember your binoculars. Car parking a few minutes walk away.

An introduction to Aberaeron

The location was perfect to anything you wanted to do while in Aberaeron. Having the river so close kept you mindful of the elements. It will be great to come back when the harbour is finished with the renovations.

Riverside retreat

We had a wonderful week at River Aeron Retreat. The property is extremely well equipped, comfortable and in a lovely location. The terrace is an added bonus and a lovely place to sit and listen to the river flowing by and to bird watch. Aberaeron is a very pretty town with an interesting heritage. It’s conveniently located to visit other places such as New Quay, Aberystwyth, Cardigan. All communications with Rhian and Alan were excellent with very prompt responses. Alan provided useful parking info and we were able to park without problems very nearby. We would love to return to this lovely property and area.
