We liked that it was a short walk to the center of Alden and that there several right of ways to Torch Lake. It was also convenient to nearby golf courses.

Great, little cabin.

The great, little cabin had everything we needed for our two-week stay. Torch Lake was a short walk away as was downtown Alden. We had no complaints and would return.

Great location!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Sunset Cabin. It had everything that we needed and is within walking distance to Alden. There are also three public access points to the lake right off of Lake Street (accessible by taking the path behind the cabin). Paul is a wonderful host and is very responsive. I don't think we could have found a better place to stay.

Relaxing time

Great Location

Great find so close to Torch Lake (it’s just down the hill)!!! Everything was as expected - everything we needed was there. Paul was very quick to respond to questions regarding both the property and the area. Kids loved walking to the park and the public access swimming nearby.

Hidden Gem!

Upon arriving to our rental the owner emailed us the details and was very helpful to questions I had about the area. Once we arrived I felt right at home. Our little cottage/cabin was nice and clean and ready for us to enjoy. Although this was not on the lake you can see the lake and it’s a short little walk. Thank you so much for your hospitality and we will be sure to return !

Wonderful stay at Sunset Cabin!

We had a fantastic experience at Sunset Cabin! The accommodations were excellent, and the host, Paul, was incredibly welcoming. My husband and I finally fulfilled our dream of visiting Torch Lake, and this location exceeded our expectations. Access to a path leading to the public access point for Torch Lake made our visits to the lake convenient. We also enjoyed exploring the Torch Lake sandbar just 3 miles away on the 4th of July. The charming town of Alden added to the overall experience, and being only an hour from Sleeping Bear Dunes and 35 minutes from Traverse City gave us the opportunity to explore more of the area. We were pleasantly surprised by the abundance of wineries in the surrounding area. Grilling, having a bonfire, and unwinding in this great cabin made our stay truly relaxing. We would love to return as guests again in the future! Thanks, Paul!

Sunset Cabins

Overall the cabin was great and the owner was kind and helpful. A minor complaint is that it’s closer to the road than we realized, so it’s a little noisy. Also, the cabin was close to lake as advertised, but we didn’t know that public access to the lake was so limited (of course that’s not the fault of the owner).

Cute quaint retreat

Check in was smooth and Paul was very accommodating. The place is a quaint cabin across from Torch. Perfect for my husband and I and our 1.5year old. Short walk/bike ride to downtown Alden. We love the Muffin Tin and surroundings shops. There are a couple public access spots on the lake nearby to swim or drop kayaks. The days were warm and the nights were cool so we were able to enjoy the patio area. Nice Weber grill and tennis/pickle ball court right next door. Highly recommend!
