Short Stay in a Beautiful Place

The property is really good for a short stay and as a base to visit the beautiful countryside of Northumberland. Lynne was really helpful in making sure our stay was comfy . I would happily recommend this place to anyone.

Optimally situated to access much of Northumbria. Well equipped and maintained to a very high standard, inclusive of luxury surprises. Parking was a much appreciated bonus.

Highly Recommend. Great apartment.

This is a great apartment. It was super clean, well furnished, the bed was comfortable and it had everything we needed (and more). The apartment has lots of light, as well as lovely room darkening curtains. The rooms are spacious. The parking is very convenient. The washing machine was useful, as we were there for a week. It is conveniently located in Alnwick. We walked to the grocery store and to restaurants and shops. There is a fantastic Guest Book that Lynn has put together with lots of great information. There are also a ton of tourist brochures for area sights. It was all very helpful. I would highly recommend staying here. Thank you Lynn, for a wonderful visit.

A wonderful mid-Covid break

We loved Castle Retreat for a wonderful few days discovering Northumberland. Very well situated within Alnwick and for both coast and inland, it is clean, smart, well appointed and generally comfortable. The communication is excellent and the welcome very warm (lovely and generous welcome tray; comprehensive manual with lots of local info; countless books and maps; and a book of suggestions from previous visitors). Very highly recommended. Thanks Lynn.

Amazing apartment !

Amazing apartment opposite Alnwick Castle and lovely views over the rooftops of Alnwick. It has everything you could possibly need for your comfort..like home from home. It is tastefully furnished, has a well equipped kitchen and the yummy Welcome Tray was so nice. It is easy dealing with Lynn, the owner, she always gets back to you straight away and answers any queries you may have. Thoroughly recommend.

A lovely flat in a period house

Fabulous welcome pack. The flat was spotless and very nicely decorated. It was comfortable and well equipped although a potato peeler might be a useful addition. It is well situated for all the amenities in Alnwick and surrounding area and the parking is very convenient. There is loads of information available for the guests. As we live rurally, the street noise was noticeable to us but we quickly got used to it and the flat is in a town so this is to be expected. I would and have already recommended this property to others.

We would highly recommended Castle Retreat!

An ideal property for exploring the surrounding area & perfect location for Alnwick. The view of the castle is wonderful from the lounge and bedroom. The property itself is to an extremely high standard, with all our needs thought of, including a much appreciated welcome package. The parking permit is very useful, even though Alnwick was busy we had no problem parking near the apartment.
