Famous for its connections to children's author Beatrix Potter and renowned English poet William Wordsworth, Hawkshead is popular with those eager to be close to the lakes of Windermere and Coniston, as well as Esthwaite. Visit the National Trust's Hill Top Beatrix Potter House, 2 miles away, to see where she gained inspiration for her colourful tales. Walk or drive 3.5 miles down to the Claife Viewing Station with its waterside paths and spectacular views out across Windermere. Head 5.5 miles into Ambleside to meander through its interesting shops, dine out in its eateries and stroll less than 1 mile to Waterhead to board a lake cruise on Windermere.


Let yourselves into the three-storey property to find spacious, welcoming accommodation that presents a wealth of original barn features, including exposed beams. The well-appointed kitchen has been designed to ensure you can prepare and store all the tasty Cumbrian produce you have shopped for with ease. Carry your dishes through to the open-plan lounge/diner when you are ready to serve up. Light the wood burner in here so it throws out a cosy glow across the room as you enjoy your holiday meal.
