Peaceful boathouse

We had a lovely stay at Marzieh’s Watervilla Shiraz. Aalsmeer is a quaint little place and the lake area is beautiful….we enjoyed watching the comings and goings of the boats and wildlife on the lake from the terrace and sofa….the kids never asked for the TV to be turned on!The property was spotless and well appointed. It is our first cycling holiday as a family and we had some rain on the way from the ferry, so warm showers and washing machine and dryer was appreciated on arrival.Marzieh was responsive to questions during booking and at the end of the stay.Secure, covered bike parking was also available within the Oud Werf complex which has a harbour master on site.Great place for our first four nights of our NL cycling adventure.The Cobb Family

Spacious houseboat, but location and comfort were challenges for us

We wanted to experience a house boat in Amsterdam and VRBO sent us this listing. This listing is not in Amsterdam it is 30-40 minutes away by car. This is clearly not the fault of the owner I think the way VRBO showed the listing it was quite misleading. The home itself is nice, very spacious for a houseboat with two floors. The neighborhood is a bit strange and secluded. It was challenging for us coming from the heart of Amsterdam for a week. Again none of this is on the host just sharing our experience. The one direct challenge we faced was the heat at night. It was quite hot even will all the windows opened. I didn’t appreciate the host’s approach to telling us to “get a house with air con next time.” There was a fan in the primary bedroom but the plug didn’t match the unit so it didn’t work. We ended up leaving after one night because it was too hot for us to get a pleasant nights rest.

Super, viel zu kurze Zeit in der Watervilla Shiraz

Wir waren 3 Nächte in Marzieh's super schönem, sauberen, toll eingerichteten Hausboot zu Gast. Sehr geräumig, in der Küche alles vorhanden und alles rundum perfekt sauber. Bei Fragen war Marzieh sofort am Antworten. Ein super schöner Kurzurlaub! Gerne merken wir uns diese Unterkunft für die Zukunft. Liebe

modern houseboat with a view

We though how cliché to stay in a houseboat in the Netherlands and this one was perfect. It is updated in a very modern style and included everything we might need. The views from the back deck were very nice & allowed us to watch the sunset. The location is perfect in the quiet town of Aalsmeer yet a short drive to Keukenhof & Amsterdam.
