I booked from a tablet 2 days before our stay.and didn't read the small print. I've been booking accommodation through booking .com for many years and never had such a stressful experience with such a lot of extra fees hidden in the small print. The final price is NOT what you think it is. You have to add on for cleaning, local taxes and if you arrive or leave on certain days at certain times you pay 10, 20, 30 euros extra. Crazy. Then to top it all, as soon as you book (booking confirmed by booking.com) they start bombarding you directly with emails demanding a deposit of 300 euros to confirm a 2 night stay. Not content with that Welkeys asked for an extra payment of 1 euro. I don't know why.
The apartment was difficult to find. Welkeys have several apartments in the area and google maps sent us all over the place. When we eventually found the address there was no indication on the bells to confirm we were in the right place.
We made numerous phone calls to Welkeys but nobody answers. Overall very poor public relations!!
Anyway. You pay extra for the cleaning. The apartment was clean but.....the balcony was very dirty, there was fluff and dust under the chairs, there were no extractor fans either in the bathroom or kitchen but rather grimy air vents. You pay extra for cleaning but have to leave the washing up done and put the rubbish in the chute on the landing. Contrary to what was written in the instructions in the flat, no bin liners were provided. The chute would only accept a tiny bag of rubbish.
No TV. No hook for the shower head (you have to hold it in your hand), Wifi comes and goes....
