Another great stay
Second time we’ve stayed at the Retreat and another great stay. The house is fantastic, clean and very well equipped. The garden and hot tub are brilliant. Lisa is a great host and communication with her is very easy and straightforward. Couldn’t recommend The Retreat highly enough

Family reunion
The Retreat cottage is gorgeous. We really enjoyed our family reunion there. Its beautifully decorated, spacious, lovely views & close to an amazing farm shop, restaurants & great day outings. Evening hot tub a definite bonus. Would highly recommend. Our host, Lisa, was great - very attentive & had excellent recommendations for local sights & things to do. We'll book again.

Dream Cottage
Beautifully furnished cottage with stunning views. So relaxing and the perfect place to unwind and spend quality time with friends and family. Hot tub set in lovely completely private gardens that are well kept. The hosts are very hospitable and friendly, adding lots of small touches which makes The Retreat so special. Our party was made up of myself and three older children aged 16 to 19 and we all thought it was the nicest place we've stayed in.

Traumhaftes Ferienhaus
Wir haben in diesem Sommer zwei Wochen in diesem Ferienhaus verbracht. Es war traumhaft. Von der Buchung bis zu unser Rückkehr nach Hause hat einfach alles gestimmt. Begrüßt wurden wir mit einer Flasche Sekt, frischem Gemüse und Salat und einem komplett vorbereiteten Hot-Tube. Die Vermieter haben uns während des Aufenthalts immer wieder kontaktiert und nach Wünschen etc. gefragt. Alle Anliegen wurden zeitnah und herzlich beantwortet. Das Haus ist riesig und für vier Personen mehr als ausreichend. Es ist sehr sauber, überall gab es frische Blumen. Wir würden dieses Ferienhaus immer wieder besuchen.

Lovely relaxed family retreat
A lovely house, very peaceful, dark skies at night were great for stargazing. Hot tub was fantastic, tennis court lovely and the gardens great for our kids to run about. Lisa is a fantastic host and went above and beyond for us. We will be back!

Wedding anniversary trip away.

Fantastic gem of a place off the beaten track!
We’ve just had a lovely week staying here- such a gorgeous, cosy and comfortable cottage with no neighbours!! Lovely spot for exploring from the doorstep. Very generous and caring host- the property was immaculate. Loved it.

You will not be disappointed
This is a place that is even more magical than the photos show. Had a fantastic amazing stay. Jamie and Lisa are wonderful hosts and so very helpful. We already love the area but definitely be back and having a look at their other property which looks like a Christmas postcard. Definitely be back already looking at the dates 😀

Perfect family retreat
Communication with host prior to arrival was so easy. We managed to get an early check in and we were in love with the property Instantly. Beautiful location and the property was immaculate. We had some issues lighting the fire for the hot tub but Jamie, bless him was on hand and was a diamond. Watching the stars whilst in the hot tub was the type of relaxation we were needing. The beds were so comfortable and our 2 year old loved all the toys and running about (not to mention watching the Deer from the window). Our only gripe was that the robes weren’t for the larger variety of person… Regardless of that, we will definitely be back!

Gorgeous
If it’s an immaculately clean cottage that is both cosy and spacious that you’re after then look no further. We stayed 3 nights and could of happily stayed for a week. The grounds are spectacular as is the scenery and the hot tub just completes the outdoors. The decor and ambiance indoors is beautiful. My friends and I were looking for a nice rural cottage to get away from the hustle bustle of everyday life and “The Retreat” allowed us to do just that. Many thanks to the owners, we will definitely be returning next November 😉

Amazing Break
We recently stayed at The Retreat for our 10th Wedding Anniversary and had the best of times! Great communication prior to arriving, a warm welcome from Lisa and some lovely treats on arrival. The Retreat is such a lovely place. The surroundings are stunning and are even more enjoyable from the hot tub! We would visit The Retreat again without question. Thank you so much Lisa!

We had a wonderful stay at The Retreat. It is such a beautiful house with spectacular views - very secluded. The house was pristine when we arrived and there was a lovely welcome surprise of lots of food and drink for us. The house is probably the best equipped self catering accommodation we have stayed in. The Retreat
The Retreat, set in a beautiful peaceful location, provided the ideal base for experiencing the many local attractions including Stirling Castle, Glasgow Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Blair Atholl, Scone Palace, the Trossachs and Royal Deeside. The Hot Tub was good fun and the Gloagburn farm shop at Tibbermore do great coffee and breakfast!

Peaceful Getaway
Myself and my husband are just back from spending our mini moon at The Retreat and we absolutely loved it. It was so peaceful and had everything that we would possibly need with the bonus gift of some lovely wine and baked treats. On arrival, we were given a friendly welcome and overview of The Retreat so knew exactly how to work the hot tub and log fire. The beds were comfortable and we loved the underfloor heating in the bathrooms which was such a luxury. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back in future and highly recommend!

Easter week at The Retreat
We had a wonderful week at this gorgeous cottage. You’re surrounded by farmland, wildlife and birdsong. The property is very spacious and superbly fitted out throughout. Lisa and Jamie are excellent hosts - Lisa met us at the property and had the hot tub already heated. She was a great help providing us with start points and ideas for local walks. They are both very generous, leaving lovely welcome treats and allowing us to use their tennis court and equipment. The cottage is ideally situated- we enjoyed walks straight from the door, local restaurants plus visits to The Kelpies and Loch Tay. Then in the evening to relax in the wood fired hot tub with the hills in the distance- bliss We would definitely like to return

Comfortable property in beautiful surroundings
We loved the total relaxation at the property, after a busy three days in Edinburgh, it was good to just unwind. The location is very good, the kitchen was well stocked, we loved the open fire, very comfortable and welcoming. Lisa was a great host with good advice for places to visit and local information. Our only negative was we were only able to use the hot tub once, on the day of our arrival. As it is wood fired it takes a long time to heat up, after 3 hours of putting logs on the fire it was still only lukewarm. I think it is probably best in the summer.

With regards to the hot tub; our recollection was the hot tub was hot and ready to use the day of your arrival (we prepared this for you)? subsequent heatings should only take 11/2 hrs maximum (as per instructions) if the cover is kept on. As we always explain to guests, If the cover is left off and the fire not properly stoked in freezing conditions it will struggle to get up to temperature. ❄️😊

The perfect escape
My husband and I have just come back from three nights at The Retreat and we can’t speak highly enough of our time there. Everything we wanted and needed was available to us. The cottage is beautifully decorated and the setting just perfect. We lead very busy lives usually and this was the perfect place to relax and chill! Would recommend to anyone looking to escape for a little while! Lisa was a brilliant host, was contactable when we needed her and gave us some excellent suggestions! Would book to stay here again in a heartbeat!

Everything thought of
Not only was The Retreat was a fantastic property in a beautiful location, the hosts made us feel so welcome with being so readily contactable, lighting the fire for the hot tub before we arrived and providing a very generous welcome package - although the Prosecco didn’t last long!. Everything we possibly could have needed was provided by the hosts - dressing gowns and slippers for the hot tub, binoculars and umbrellas for a walk, and ample firewood for the fire - all these touches really made for a great stay - definitely one of the best properties we’ve stayed at in the UK.

Absolutely stunning cottage
Lisa is a lovely property manager more then welcoming and very helpful. The cottage is beautiful all mod cons, hot tub and log fire are great. Photos don’t do the scenic views justice, the views are gorgeous from sunrise to sunset. Great area to explore and get away for some peace and quiet.

August 2021 stay
The Retreat lived up to its name in every way. Easily one of the best self-catering properties we have stayed in with a feeling of being in a home from home with every detail thought of by Lisa. Not to mention the superb location with access to peaceful walks in the estate, lots of wildlife to see and fabulous night skies to watch from the hot tub. Lisa phoned on our arrival and supplied us with a fantastic veg/ salad box from her garden, this in addition to the treats on our arrival. All of which go to make this a very easy 5 star review. Relaxing break
Very relaxing stay at the Retreat. The property is down a track and very quiet with the closest neighbour approx. A quarter of a mile away. Each morning and evening deer can be seen in the adjoining field and a hedgehog had made his home in the hedge! A nice touch was that we were provided with bread, milk, butter and eggs as well as treats and prosecco! The tennis court is fabulous, it is a short drive away and there are set time slots for use, but if you wanted to use it outside that time you just let the owner know. Another nice touch was that the owner also let's you pick any veggies from their patch.

Summer staycation
A hidden gem! Coming from Aberdeen, this was our first summer holiday in our native Scotland and the Retreat was fantastic. The owners were very communicative throughout our stay - including the friendly gardener who left use fresh vegetables. The location was beautiful, facilities were clean, well equipped and tasteful. Really enjoyed our stay and have already been recommending to our friends and family.

The Retreat was a treat!
Very happy with our stay at the Retreat. It was bigger and even nicer than the photos suggested. The building is amazing, the heating is from a ground loop, the materials like wood floors etc are responsibly sourced from the local area, underfloor heating is a sensation when you've just got out of the hot tub in the chilly evening air! The attention to detail was a joy, the privacy was blissful, nothing overlooks the property from any angle so that really helps when you're looking for a holiday to unwind. We had kids (6 and 10), they loved it too, lots to do in the area. Lisa and Jamie were really welcoming, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and looked after. We'll be back! Pete.

Amazing Getaway
We had a lovely time at The Retreat! The views were brilliant, the hot tub was a great addition! Perfect location for a relaxed getaway, couldn’t ask for anything better.

AMAZING
We had a wonderful week at The Retreat. The cottage is beautiful in a stunning location the perfect place for a relaxing, peaceful holiday with everything you need and more ! We didn't want to go home !! Thank you so much Lisa & Jamie we would love to return in the future.

Everyone needs a break at the retreat 😊
Completely away from it all in beautiful countryside - not overlooked - no noise pollution - log fire - relaxing and sublime hot tub looking out to the hills - warm welcome from the hosts - decorated and equipped to a very high spec - spotless - comfy - lovely country walks from outside the back door - etc etc - as near to perfect a depressing and relaxing break location as it’s possible to find, imho 😄 Seriously - just go there!

Second stay
This was our second stay at the retreat and was just as amazing as the first time. We were also treated with beautiful weather. As always the property was beautifully presented with a few goodies left for us to enjoy. Lisa & Jamie's are just lovely, nothing was too much hassle and communication was outstanding. This stay we enjoyed going for long walks, you can walk for miles and it is so peaceful! We absolutely love the hot tub and getting the fire going in the evening. We will 100% book for a third time.

Lovely stay in a beautiful cottage
It was the perfect getaway - beautiful views from the cottage and the hot tub, well appointed throughout and very cosy with the open fire. It is also well placed to access a range of amazing walks in a very short distance, highly recommend for couple or family
