Not what was expected

We paid close to $250 for one night at this hotel. Upon check-in they attempted to give us a small stuffy room that looked like something out of an Adirondack mountain cabin, think plaid, brown and rust palette etc. The staff was nice enough to move us into a better room after some pleading and sharing the details of our reservation. The new room had large windows that wouldn’t open, equally unappealing decor and a balcony which you could access from the room give that the windows wouldn’t open. There was also a huge tv, shiny cheap white floor etc. To top it off they were doing construction on the room next to us until about 5pm. The lake area was very nice and the food good and staff pleasant and helpful however the ugly concrete building in no way fits into the environment (there are no signs to the hotel which makes me wonder if they even have permits?) . Perhaps if we were paying 100 USD a night rather to than 250 we would have had lower expectation and been less critical.

The lake is beautiful, but the property is very rustic. They tried to over charge me by $100. The food and drink was very limited. Very scary road to get there.

Mi primer experiencia All inclusive

Es un excelente hotel, con habitaciones súper amplias, baños limpios, el servicio de comida, bueno, aunque les falta actualizar su menú, los servicios de recorrido se cobran aparte, así como el servicio de masajes, $2800 un recorrido a la laguna, privado, por 4 personas, sí van en familia que sobrepase este número aumenta más el costo del recorrido.....

El "todo incluido" no incluye transporte del aeropuerto al hotel, el cual es caro, les recomiendo no usar el del aeropuerto y googlear sitios de taxi cercanos. La variedad de comida es poca, si llegan anes del checkin (3pm) no les dan acceso al todo incluido hasta pasar la hora del checkin. El hotel está un poco alejado del pueblo y de todos los otros lugares de bacalar, el hotel es pequeño y cuenta con pocas habitaciones, la laguna que tiene es muy limpia y tranquila, en general me gustó

Not bad.

Its a very small resort. The bar is limited without many options. The food is made fresh as you order but the portions are tiny. Everything shuts down at 9pm. The water in the bathroom has a funny smell. The road to drive to the resort is very dangerous and unpaved. There are also no signs to help you find the resort. Not the greatest value for the money spent.

The all inclusive is okay in the sense that the rooms were clean and the food was available, however the value for money is not quite there as the place looks not well kept and even the pier which they have in their name has seen better days.

La entrada muy inaccesible para los vehículos chicos , el olor insoportable a cañería dentro de las habitaciones, las fotos con las que promocionan el lugar , nada que ver con la realidad , abres las cortinas de la ventana y dan a una pared sucia. Would definitely come back!!

Amazing place! Good fresh food and friendly service. It’s quiet & private. Direct access to lagoon. Free use of kayaks. If you book a tour, they pick you up from pier. Love how quiet, safe and secluded the hotel is.

The property was well-kept and right on the lagoon. The rooms were clean and roomy. The food was very good and had a variety of options. Some of the complaints we had were the following: The location of this hotel is right outside the town. At the moment, the lagoon at this location does not have the blue colors. It has a green tint. It is still beautiful but you will have to book a tour to see the blue colors of the lagoon. If you are staying in town, you will have access to bluer waters as well. The food, although delicious, took a long time to prepare. We sometimes had to wait 30 minutes to get it. We usually ordered and went to play in the lagoon as we waited. The hotel has a nice pier over the lagoon with hammocks and stairs. It was a very nice area for our kids to play in. We were also able to use the kayaks for free. One last thing, the road leading into the hotel is not in the best condition. However, we were able to get in and out with our car.

It was a little hard to find the entrance to the hotel from the road si ves it doesn’t have the name marked. The entrance shows another complex name. The Bacalar lake has lost the beautiful colors due to many hurricanes that have hit the coast and the main attraction is now gone. The hotel is nice but it need lots of work to make it superior. All the personnel are very helpful and friendly. The restaurant menu is limited.

Este hotel no tiene una señalización clara para poder llegar facil. Las instalaciones están un poco descuidadas y huelen a humedad. Su acceso a la Laguna es espectacular, los alimentos excelentes la calidad y el servicio. Si quieres ir a descansar este es el lugar ideal

Habitación súper sencilla, el hotel en general es muy rústico. La comida es buena, pero tardan muchísimo en servir. La entrada es horrible, todo es terracería, si llueve un poco por todos lados hay lodo. A las 7pm ya no hay nada que hacer. No cuenta con alberca, y el único atractivo es la laguna. Demasiado caro para lo que ofrece. Recomiendo ir solo un día a ver la laguna e irse
