“The location of Hotel Rose is central to most of the best walkable sites in Rotterdam. We were minutes away from the boat dock for catching the watershuttle to Kinderdijk. Only a block away from transit too. The breakfast was delicious and great value. We would definitely stay at Hotel Rose again.”

“The hotel was actually quite nice, but the location wasn’t good for us. There were no restaurants, shops or sights writhing walking distance and we had no car, so anything we wanted to do or see was a 20 Euro ride away.”

“A clean, quiet, elegant, and cozy hotel with very friendly and courteous service. The breakfast is plentiful, making it a great accommodation choice for any type of trip.”

“Beautiful hotel in a quiet, scenic part of the city. The number 9 tram takes you from the Hague central directly to a stop across from the hotel. Hop on that tram again and get to the beach in about 10 minutes. There's a nice grocery store about a 15 minute walk along the canal and through an authentic Dutch residential area.
A couple of points: to get on/off public transit requires scanning your bank or credit card. Had I known this in advance, I might have brought a card for transit use……

"My stay at this hotel was deeply disappointing from start to finish. Service felt indifferent, even careless. At check‑in, staff gave no information about breakfast or cleaning, and no housekeeping was done during my stay. When noise from nearby rooms became unbearable, I asked for help. A staff member named Evan promised to check but never asked for my name or room number. Later, he investigated the wrong room entirely, and despite my follow‑up, never came to mine. The inconsistent attitude—especially when compared with how he handled another guest—was striking.
The room itself was poorly maintained: no kettle, no fridge, no tissues, weak lighting, and unstable shower temperature. At dawn, the air turned icy, yet guests couldn’t adjust the heating because it was centrally controlled. Even small conveniences were missing, making the space uncomfortable and cold in both atmosphere and design.
The environment was equally unpleasant. The walls let in constant noise from pipes, doors, and passing conversations. The lobby, open to the public as a makeshift lounge, was crowded and loud, leaving no peaceful corner for guests to rest.
Breakfast was the final let‑down—barely more than eggs, with few pastries and no fruit variety. The menu listed muffins, but staff claimed they cost extra. Tables were sticky and uncleared. For a hotel that calls itself sustainable, the practice of using disposable bathroom cups and motion‑sensor lights that switch off mid‑shower felt stingy instead."
"Self-check but the staff are very laid-back :)
Many times there is no one at the lobby to serve.
Coffee machine is shut down in the lobby. Sparkling water is just normal still water.
There was a staff being busy with another couple checking in ( while I got no assist at all when I check in ). I request to get my luggage and he asked me to sit down first. Waited 10 mins and turned out he’s forgot my request and freely chatting with the senior manager. I stood closer and the manager gave him a hint. Saw me but then continued to chat then slowly went to take a wrong luggage to me. No apologises whatsoever. It was late at 12am and I just wanted to m shower and sleep since I had a very early meeting.
Meanwhile the (suppose) senior manager just bounces every request to others by saying : you can find my colleague. He just sat at the bar and drank while there were more than 1 group of guests in need.
Not sure why and they did not clean our room at the second last night with the cleaning card hanged outside. ( we left in the morning )
Another room’s guest put their finished meal in the corridor for collection but it was there whole day/night.
Good location and facilities but poor service. "
