"The room was comfortable and reasonably clean, we did have a damp/fusty smell which was reported to staff. Plenty of choice at breakfast, which was lovely and staff attentive."

"Very easy location if you are travelling northwards on the A1. A very leafy part of Darlington. There is a park the other side of the road a bit further on but we didn't go to it. The building has character and history that we like but there are modern rooms if you prefer that style. We have been twice recently and will go again. On the 2 Saturdays we have been there there have been weddings but have not been disturbed by any noise and quite enjoy seeing some of the guests as we go through the hotel! Wifi and breakfast were good."
