"Everything was completely as expected. It’s kind of a no frills lodging more like an apartment complex than a village. But clean, warm, quiet, and comfortable. There are a few places to eat nearby, but mostly you’ll need to take the bus. If you buy a lift pass from the resort, you can use it on the bus but be sure not to use it the night before you plan to use it for skiing or that will void it for the next day. Wait until the morning of ski day to buy your pass to avoid that. Buses stop running fairly early so if you plan to stay out late, you’ll take your chances with a private car. Staff there were super helpful and easy to contact and spoke English well. No onsen in the area, the two closest required transportation, close to the bus route. I wondered why the staff and welcome book recommended traveling to Hirafu for amenities and didn’t even mention Niseko village, until we went there. Very overpriced, bougie, not high-quality food. So that explained it. If you’ve never skied Niseko before learn about the gate system and side country skiing before you go. "
