We stayed over for 1 night after visiting Pitlochry for The Enchanted Forest. We arrived a little earlier than suggested check in, which was fine as we were okay to wait for 15 minutes. We ended up waiting for over an hour until our room was ready. The staff at the desk didn’t know what the house keeping were doing and why the room wasn’t ready. We eventually got checked in.
The lift was out of order, which we knew about. However, we saw a group of older people arriving on the same day as us having to carry their big suitcases up 2-3 flights of stairs. We helped where we could, would’ve been nice to maybe have some staff to offer extra help.
When we eventually got to our room, (family room with a double bed and bunk beds) it was very outdated, big old furniture taking up a lot of room. The wallpaper was very visibly coming off of the walls with huge chunks of it missing. It could really do with a bit of an update. The bunk beds were really small so it was a bit of a squeeze for our teenage daughter. The double bed was big and very comfortable.
On the plus side, we really enjoyed the pool and spa area, even though the pool was on the smaller side, our daughters enjoyed it. Breakfast was lovely with loads of options. All this included in the price of the room.
Overall our stay was fine.
