“When you visit Blowing Rock you have to stay at the Embers. It’s our favorite get away-located on the corner of Main Street you can easily walk anywhere-to the restaurants, shops, museum etc. The rooms and public areas are immaculate, beds and linens inviting and comfortable, rain showers with all the immensities, beautiful towels, staff is friendly and you get the feeling they love working there(thats important) all rooms have balconies-great restaurant and bar area inside as well as outside……

“This is a very well-maintained older property that is convenient to central Blowing Rock. You could park here and enjoy the town without driving. Although close in, it was quiet. The manager was very attentive and helpful in making suggestions for dining. The room was fairly small, but neat and clean. It's not fancy by Blowing Rock standards, but it had everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable - I slept better than at home. The property was also nicely landscaped, with lovely outside……

“The only problems we had was that our room phone was not plugged in, the alarm clock was preset to a very early alarm and the TV was not easy to figure out. Thankfully Reed at the front desk in the evenings was extremely kind and helpful with the TV. The restaurant was closed which would have been helpful the night it stormed as we couldn't go to a restaurant with our dog. Other than that, the resort was beautiful and I highly recommend staying there !”

“Blowing Rock is a beautiful little town. Unfortunately, big conglomerates are buying up the small hotel properties, and the personal service that was once the rule is now lacking entirely. We stayed at Azalea Inn and were disappointed. To start, we had to go to a different property to check in. During our whole stay, there was never any staff onsite at Azalea. The grounds are lovely, but it's an old building. We stayed in a "deluxe" room for our anniversary, but had to climb a dark, smelly……

“Clean room. We stayed in a "cabin", which has 4 apartments in it. Older property. Could use updating. Very clean. Bed was uncomfortable. Grounds were lovely.”

“The location is great, being within walking distance of center of Blowing Rock. Parking is convenient being right in front of room. Room was clean and consistent with prior stays over the years. Only thing that should be improved is better quality toilet paper. The single ply is not in keeping with the overall positive expeir.”

“Other than the day we checked in there was never anyone at the front desk and to dorr to the lobby was almost always locked. No extra towels or coffee was available.”
