"This is our third stay at this wonderful property and we were very pleased. The large living, light filled living room is perfect for coffee and relaxed evening conversation by the fire. The kitchen is functional and perfect for gathering and enjoying. There is a lot of space to spread out, 2 full bathrooms and outdoor space. This is our favorite when visiting our Cal Poly kid and we’ll be back!"

"Worst hotel experience in a long time. Avoid. This place is essentially a dog hotel — every room smells like it, furniture is damaged, and there’s zero separation for guests without pets. The front desk computer was down at 10PM, turning check-in into a disaster. The young employee was completely rude — no patience, no empathy for a family traveling with a toddler along the Oregon Coast. She refused our $100 cash deposit for 30 minutes, finally accepted it, then never gave a receipt. When I asked, no apology — just attitude like I was the problem. I paid $120 for this room and was treated like I didn’t matter. A hotel that depends on travelers for its business has no right treating guests like garbage. Now I’m thinking I need to spend $300 just to get basic respect and a smile at check-in. That says everything about this place. Book anywhere else."

"This was a basic vintage hotel. It was comfortable and fine, but nothing to write home about. For instance, the rooms don’t have microwaves or little fridges. But the bathtub was really deep and awesome. It’s the kind you wanna get on the open ocean with a paddle and head your way to Hawaii."

"An absolutely perfect 4 nights in Arcata. The best bits:- view from the kitchen window was downright dreamy- location… easily walkable to all the things- 2 FULL bathrooms- easy to operate washer/dryer- water pressure in shower- more than enough hot water- closet/pantry space - windows open for lots of fresh air- easy to use smart tv (I just casted from my phone)- LOTS of easily located outlets- lamps with USB ports- easy to operate drip coffee maker- convenient, off street parking - comfy beds w both firm and squishy pillows- road noise was a non-issue- easy to operate electronic door lock- super fast communication with owner- very short list of check-out proceduresThe need to know bits (but wasn’t an issue for me):- no iron/board- the mirror in the bathroom w the tub is really low… since I’m 5’9”, I just pulled a chair from the kitchen to do my makeup so it’s an easy fixOverall, this was definitely one of my fav VRBO’s, and I’ve stayed in Arcata probably a dozen times. Would 100% stay at this one again."
