“The pictures and description are 100% accurate, but being there in person to take in the peaceful surroundings and views of nature with the family was a great experience. The hostess was responsive from the moment we booked and provided all the info we needed to make it to this mountain top cabin on the VA/WV border. We drove up on a Friday and after getting out of DC traffic we were on our way to Almost Heaven cabin. When we’re about a mile or so from the cabin we saw a black bear crossing……

The house itself is beautifully decorated and each room was large, tasteful, and comfortable. The master bedroom was huge, comfortable and elegant. Came looking for a place to gather our offspring and families together while we were in VA for a wedding. We were out with wedding festivities much of the time and wished we had more time to just relax and enjoy the premises. Grandson enjoyed looking for polywogs in the pond and roasting marshmallows in the outdoor fire pit. A little out of the way but we really enjoyed the outdoor space and……

“We really enjoyed our stay at the house for a ski weekend. The main room and the kitchen were absolutely lovely - just such a nice place to relax and hang with the family. The rooms were all nice, except that one of the kings is in the loft without a door and facing the living room. Otherwise the downstairs area for the kids was perfect - away from us so we could sleep and they could hang out playing air hockey and games downstairs outside the 2 rooms. The welcome sign was a nice touch, as was the jug of water, coffee machine and the cork board of suggested restaurants. Such a cute home too in the middle of a nice neighborhood! Highly recommend”

Chris was a great host. He checked on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. I've rented multiple VRBO properties and this is by far the best one. “We enjoyed an extended stay at Otter’s Way in early spring. As others have said, this property is exceptional. The grounds with the ponds are a natural paradise, so much fun to watch and hear the many birds, otters, frogs (and even local cows down the way). The house is comfortable and welcoming with great views and spacious indoor/outdoor spaces. If you leave the curtains open at night, the downstairs bedroom provides a magical view of the stars.
