「Heather the manager was very friendly and welcoming. We got our drinks at the bar and confirmed our stay and we had a lovely evening meal. The room was spacious and comfortable with a shower and bath.It was very quiet.Breakfast in the morning was great and heather made us feel so at home. Definitely would recommend a stay.」

「Single occupancy for two nights - small room, but clean, good shower & comfortable bed. Food (smoked salmon & scrambled eggs for breakfast and Cajun chicken salad in the evening) was excellent and portions were generous. Staff friendly and efficient. All for a very reasonable price. Great location to explore Lake Windermere.」

「Lovely room, spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed Nice size bathroom with complimentary soaps, shampoos etc All rooms on first floor so could be an issue if you have mobility problems Royal hotel bar/ restaurant quite busy so would recommend booking if you want to dine in. Food quality was excellent and a great service given. 「Stayed with a friend, visiting Gaping Gill. Good size twin room. Very comfortable and quiet. Slept very well, not disturbed at all. Breakfast standard buffet and cooked. Staff really friendly, professional and helpful. Lovely garden at the rear. Didn't eat at the hotel.」

「Easy to find. Staff friendly. Although the room felt tired it was clean comfortable and had everything you needed, however as a light sleeper a blackout blind would be welcome. We had a evening meal was absolutely delicious and we would recommend. Would stay here again」

「This is the second time we've stayed at the Mason Freehouse, it was lovely the first time we stayed, which made us keen to return. Although it is now under new management, it's clear that the lovely, friendly, warm welcoming atmosphere is something the staff are keen to retain. 「Love everything about The Fleece inn, lovely friendly staff, beautiful accommodation, great food. Didn’t like anything. That’s why I have stayed there 5 times now. The fact they won country pub of the year in the whole of Britain says it all!」
