The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, food was very good. Decor of the hotel could be described as faded grandeur. Our room was huge and clean though needed an update of furniture. Bed massive and reasonably comfy. We were in the forest wing, walls thin and could be noisy depending on neighbours. Overall we enjoyed our week long stay, we had been a number of times before so knew what to expect. If you are looking for a modern, boutique type hotel this is not for you. For us it is a very reasonable place to stay as a base for the area. It's up for sale at the moment and may change depending on a future purchaser.

The hotel is delightfully old school. Table cloths in the large dining room and carpeted floors making for a peaceful atmosphere where one could be heard. The balcony in our spacious bedroom was a joy from where we were able to occasionally see red deer. The staff were enormously helpful in moving luggage - there are no lifts. All in all a delightful experience.

Excellent staff, glorious location, fabulous grounds and views. Lovely lounges and bar. Super pool and facilities. Spacious bedroom, bathrooms and storage space. We did not use the restaurant. Cleaning and replenishment of refreshments and room service only if requested. Bathrooms Need some attention as there is significant mould in the bathroom and shower, and also there is considerable condensation in the bedroom windows, even though we opened them during the day. Overall a lovely holiday.,

Some beautiful furnishings throughout. Some areas a bit tired and in need of refurbishment. Staff were all excellent. Breakfast was good but felt dinner prices a bit excessive for what was served. We had a beautiful newly refurbished bathroom ( bedroom not ) so here’s hoping improvements are going on throughout the hotel. We would recommend and we will return.

The hotel sits in beautiful grounds and has plenty of parking, including several EV chargers which was very convenient. The rooms appear very dated but very clean and spacious. Sound definitely travels throughout and we could easily hear our neighbours. The staff were friendly. We enjoyed a tasty roomservice meal, although it felt overpriced.

Beautiful old hotel. Very dog friendly. Views are amazing. Bedroom was very large and clean but needs bit of refurbishing. Found bedroom doors were a bit noisy when closing. As the weather was excellent we enjoyed sitting in our balcony relaxing and enjoying the view. Good walks. Great pool and hot tub. Had our breakfast in the conservatory as we could take our dog in with us. Breakfast was a good buffet selection. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Fully enjoyed our stay and will return.

The wecome I recieved at the hotel was second to none, warm friendly & eceptionally helpful. The hotel room was well maintained despite being obviously aged. I took a swim & jacquzzi which was warm & very enjoyable. I would definately return to the hotel, hopefully for longer next time.

Breakfast super and dinner on Saturday night very enjoyable. Staff were excellent and made the stay even better. The bar, and the outside seating area very comfortable and we enjoyed our drinks in the sunshine. Golf course, although we didn’t play looked in extremely good condition. A great break away. Lovely warm welcome, beautiful building. Good facilities like a pool to keep my kids entertained. Had a drink on the night from the bar and relaxed in a beautiful room watching baby deer on the golf course. Woke up from a good night's sleep followed by a delicious breakfast in the hotel dining hall. We all loved it and will definitely be back on our next travels through Scotland.

Old elegant hotel. Yes a bit worn in places but spotlessly clean. Food fantastic. Views and grounds are spectacular. Very dog friendly. Rooms spacious and warm Pool good. No spa. Golf right on your doorstep. Staff helpful. Annie at reception especially so. Lovely walks and close to beaches and cute towns. Lacked atmosphere in the dining room and bar areas. All in all great value for money and a restful few days. Planning to return.
