Shinjuku Prince Hotel

"Good hotel but it was cumbersome to request amenities. Really disappointed with the first room we reserved: very VERY small (couldn’t even leave our suitcases open) and noisy because our room faced the train tracks. No laundry facilities was another HUGE disappointment and very inconvenient. Other than the VERY small rooms and no laundry facilities were big disappointments: we had to upgrade and pay addition $800.00 for a better room. Also, hotel seemed to group tourists to lower floors…I felt a bit discriminated even though I was born and raised “local” resident that moved away for some time."

"We stayed here for 6 nights (and had a nice stay) and then left for 6 days and returned for our last 2 nights. There was no recognition we had stayed there before just a week earlier when we checked in - I had to fill out the same forms I had just filled out 12 days ago for the first stay and there was no "welcome back". We checked in early and submitted our passports and checked in our baggage as the room not ready. But when we came back later, we were told to check in again and had to show our passports again which was odd, and our baggage was not waiting for us in our room. We still had to wait awhile for it. We also discovered that the shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers had been ripped off our shower wall but there was no replacement shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the room. They brought it when asked and did apologize with some nice treats. The room is spacious and we were lucky to have a great view but it needs updating - lobby and other facilities are very nice. We loved the yakitori chicken restaurant in the basement. Finally, unfortunately, we didn't find the concierge very helpful for food recommendations (just gave us a printed sheet of restaurants in the area) nor super friendly. The hotel was very clean and in a great location for transportation."

Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Tokyo - Shiodome

"BEWARE WHEN BOOKING YOUR ROOM!!!! I had 2 reservations for this hotel. On one of them- Expedia changed the number of people to 2 instead of 3. The staff seen my other reservation for 3 people. Mind you we had a room that accommodates 5 people each time- so I’m not sure why this was an issue. They charged us $400 USD. I seen that other guests here went through the same issue, so just double check your booking since they check in and scan passports of all guests. Otherwise we enjoyed this hotel and it was a great location to get around Tokyo. I ended up paying for breakfast each day which I felt was worth it because as someone with an allergy they labeled their food and had different options. Overall, would recommend this place!"
