My stay at the Chicago Lake Shore Hotel was good! The outside of the facility looks to be in rough shape but once you step inside the rooms they are updated and very clean!!! I would stay here again for the price. Of they could update/renovate the outside this place would be 10/10!!!

The hotel was really nice and the rooms are clean and nice looking. Also only a 5-7 minutes walk from the Metra station and the bus station that gets you downtown pretty easily. Overall it was a really nice and located in a safe neighbourhood. The only negative about this place was that the wi-fi was very slow and sometime it did not work.

Clean room with comfortable mattress, coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. Excellent location by the lake. Safe neighborhood in Hyde Park. Could go for a nice jog in the morning to the beach and back. Metra (5 min walk) takes you directly to the convention center. The price of the room will not break the bank :)

The best part was the parking, I didn't have to fight for a spot in an area where parking is at a premium. Worst was the lack of hot water in the shower. it was hot but the sink was better. Also the bath tub was slippery and I felt unsafe. Cleaning/house keeping was good.

It's a ok place to stay for the price. Everything is remodeled, so it's clean in the rooms. The pool is still needing remodeling, and it's no restaurant on the property, but it's a clean place to stay

Rooms very clean, beds are good, staff is attentive. Terrible wifi reception and since cell reception is bad this is a double whammy. Also no grab and go in the lobby and no cable TV in the rooms. That's a standard everywhere else. We couldn't add our own apps to the TV to stream our preferred networks so again 2 strikes in the entertainment side. Property seems like it was just bought and trying to be refurbished or on its way out. However if you want an value room that is clean and roomy this is a good spot.

The renovated room was nice… better than expected based on prior reviews. This is a nice quiet place to stay in the Hyde Park neighborhood, close to Lake Michigan and also close to bus, Metra and the “L” stations to reach downtown as well as the south side & south suburbs.

The hotel was easy to find. The free Parking was a huge plus! Only 5 minutes walk to a CTA bus stop or Metra train. Our room was very clean. My only complaint was the lack of amenities. There wasn't even an ice or water machine, no vending machines, no breakfast. But if you just need a place to sleep while you explore Chicago by day then this place is perfect.
