BEAT. 1932 Hostel at Chinatown

BEAT. 1932 Hostel at Chinatown
2.5 star property
Downtown Singapore
9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, (4)
"Very lovely new hostel in Singapore. Stayed at many hostels before but this probably stands out a lot because it offers a plentiful breakfast and has free toiletries. The capsule itself gets a little stuffy if the blinds are down but they provide a small fan in the capsule which is really thoughtful. Highly recommend this hostel, will be back real soon..."

Frequently asked questions

What can I expect on my historical trip to Chinatown?
Those interested in local history will want to visit the chinatown and temples in Chinatown. The major shopping area and top-notch restaurants are some of the places to visit while you're here.
How many historical hotels will I find in Chinatown?
In Chinatown, you'll find 70 lodging options bookable on Expedia though not many historic hotels to choose from.
What are the most important historical sites and other places in Chinatown?
Chinatown is notable for its Chinatown district and temples, and landmarks include Thian Hock Keng Temple and Seng Wong Beo Temple. Cultural venues include Chinatown Heritage Center, Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum and Singapore City Gallery. Additionally, in the area, you'll find Marina Bay Sands Casino and Marina Bay Sands Skypark.
What is a historic hotel like in Chinatown?
Historic hotels give guests an opportunity to stay in a building that has been recognised with an official historic designation. Historic hotels throughout the world come in all forms like castles, palaces or even pubs or old police stations — any place of special interest. These types of hotels in Chinatown typically retain original qualities like traditional architecture and period features in their communal spaces or guestrooms.
What is the difference between a historic hotel and a heritage hotel?
The two are similar. "Historic hotel" is a term often used in the US, whereas "heritage hotel" is common in Asia and Europe. Historic hotels tend to place more significance on the building and architecture itself. A heritage hotel draws meaning mainly from the cultural value and how it shaped the community.
Do historic hotels in Chinatown have modern facilities?
Yes, efforts are made to preserve the historic aspects and traditions, but hotel interiors are fitted with modern conveniences and safety features. Tourists who book a stay can expect the amenities you'd get from a hotel such as private rooms with updated bathroom facilities, heating and air conditioning, and free and fast Internet. Booking a historic hotel in Chinatown doesn't mean you're choosing a place that's rundown or uncomfortable for guests.
