"We had an accessible room which was clean and serviced every day. Bathroom was clean, but my partner noticed a slight leak to the toilet and that the sink unit was a bit loose from the wall. This he reported on checkout as both were minor issues for our stay. Breakfast selection was quite good but I didn’t like the dispenser for the jam marmalade and honey. As it could get messy and selection was limited. The cereal selection area also got messy due to the design of the bowls meant people were spilling over the side when getting their selection. Mugs were really not wide enough to catch the variations of the coffee machine. On two occasions I had to try again as the cappuccino mixture missed and went down the side of the mug. The main problem is that the accessible room had a small queen bed and this was not quite adequate. I think in an accessible room where the partner has to use a bathroom not suitable for them they should be able to get some comfort in the sleeping area and a king size bed would be more appropriate. Parking was excellent if a little expensive for a blue badge holder. "

"Great location behind the cathedral.The room and bathroom were clean and quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast choice was great and even though it was buffet/help yourself the quality of the food was good. The room itself was a bit shabby around the edges. There were stains on the carpet and the furniture was scratched and outdated. Whilst the bathroom looked like it had recently been retiled the taps and shower head were covered in what I guess was limescale.The remote control for the television was filthy. The building itself was very 1960's and I found it a bit strange that reception was round the side in the basement. Overall OK for a 2 night stay. I chose this hotel as I needed to be near the hospital as visiting a sick relative."

"We stayed two nights without children and dog. Our dog was made to feel very welcome by all staff which was great. Shout outs to Julie and Charlie who went above and beyond looking after our dog whilst we had dinner. "

"Easy parking on NCP car park behind the property. Convenient location, comfortable bed and good facilities in room. Quiet location. Had some issues getting my entry code, the links in the email didn’t work so I had to ring up. The customer service person helped me but couldn’t get the email to resend and he just had to tell me the room number and check in code. These worked perfectly when I arrived and there were no issues. Kettle, tea, coffee, milk portions and biscuits provided, fridge was clean. Microwave worked fine, I made a porridge sachet with milk I brought myself. Could do with providing a tea towel to dry dishes after use. There were no teaspoons. Sliding bathroom door got stuck and I was trapped in there for 10 minutes till I could wiggle a big enough gap to get my fingers in to slightly lift and change the angle so it would open- needs attention. Despite minor niggles I would stay there again (it’s my 2nd visit) as the price and location are good and it was a comfortable room. "

"The place, location and room were lovely - however the property does not have parking facilities!! And this was why I booked it. Due to an event I couldn’t buy the required ticket and now had to argue a ticket after staying g up and waiting for the parking to activate again. The parking arrangement should be made much clearer"

"We arrived and our room door was wedged open. The digital door lock did not work and had to be reprogrammed. The bed had a plank under the mattress to hold it up. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the room. There were residents wandering around and could have been in our booked room as it was not secured. The communal area was dirty and the bins were overflowing. If you have a car bigger than a Corsa you will not have enough room in their marked car parking spaces. To top it off there was 2 people at the rear of the building smoking weed. I spoke to someone on the phone to tell them the issues and they were not bothered. I asked for a full refund but this was refused. They show an AA 4* accreditation but this accommodation would be lucky to get a 1*. We did not stay here and booked into a different hotel which was fantastic. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!"

"We enjoyed our stay. Staff were friendly and efficient. Couldn't fault them. Room was perhaps a little tired, although the bathroom was good and clean. The only issue we had was on the day of checkout some horrendous drilling started above our room before 9am. We intended to stay close to our checkout time of 11am, but had to leave before 9:30am as the noise was so bad. When I spoke to reception, they without any issue took some money off our bill as compensation. Am sure they would have moved us if we were staying longer. Was happy with how this was resolved."

"A pub with rooms is a better description rather than hotel, staff great and well situated for cathedral and castle. No overnight staff on site, breakfast had to be booked night before. Good parking and safe area. "

"An ideal location near to the top of Steep Hill, close to many of Lincolns tourist attractions. An easy walk from the train station"
