“Very friendly and welcoming. Lovely property and location. Spoiled dog with a large dog bed, bowls, treats, potty bags. Spoil guests with hot cider and smores. Only issue was no place outside to dispose of dog waste.”

“Geweldige locatie en mooi hotel. Zou het iedereen aanraden.”

“The place was pretty clean and the view was gorgeous. We had a pleasant stay. There were no elevator in the building we were staying in so we had to carry our luggages and everything up to the third floor, several times. This is why I rated this place good instead of excellent.”

“Comfortable and easily accessible!”

“Clean, basic stay. Staff was friendly but failed to mention the spa and sauna were out of order when we checked it, that was a bummer to find out. A bit dated but it's clean and the continental breakfast was a bonus. Would stay again.”

“Im posting this review in part because I’m disappointed with Expedia. And posted a negative review to East Bay Suites by accident. Because my reservation at Black Sand Beach Hotel was a disaster! I stayed at East Bay Suites last week and the week before and service was first class! Great location! Beautiful views! And fair price for the time of year. I felt at home! A real hiker paradise! Tried to find something in Silver Bay with Expedia and showed up to nothing but a “You do not……

“This was our second year returning to the Cliff dweller. Looking forward to next year as well. Views of Lake Superior from our small deck each year are great!”

“Super cute vintage roadside motel vibe. Comfortable bed & crisp white linens made for a great night's sleep. Room & bathroom where very clean. Small & unique, well-stocked kitchen was acceptable. Fabulous view out back window/screen door of the lake & sunrise. Enjoyed walking the grounds and down by shore in morning/night with my dog very much. Floor upon entry had many tile squares with numerous cracks & chipped pieces - It was like putting puzzle pieces back in when one popped out. Could……

“Great views, wonderful location just outside of town, and comfortable. Really great find for a few days of trails”

“Biggest drawback was the price - at least 40% higher than it should be, if not more. Very disappointed in what we experienced for what we paid. The “vision” of the the place and the intent is higher than the execution. Maybe if was better whenever it first opened. The online photos are way more appealing and attractive than the actual unit. The decor — quaint and rustic - it’s fine. There was a huge (definitely not needed) portable A/C unit right inside the door, along with a portable oil……

“It is IN the woods, which is a bonus for me. The outhouse was clean, there’s two outhouses in 1 building. There was no one staying in the yurt across the driveway, so I was alone. Nice. The cabin was clean. It looks like they are adding a screen porch, which will help keep the bugs at bay if you want to just sit outside a while during bug time. There was a Solo fire pit with available wood, which I didn’t use. I love the back window in the cabin, watching the hummingbirds and other unusual birds……
