Location was good. House nice size. Will probably rent it again, if some things will be fixed. No broom in house to sweep kitchen floor. Brown sewage water left in dishwasher. Did not smell good. Sand left in pool, outside and in basement. Long black all around the floor kitchen n bathroom. Ant problem. I will give house a B and location A

The house is in a nice dog friendly neighborhood. The pool is nice and clean with plenty of seating. The top level was open and had enough space for all the families to gather. The management company was very attentive and made an effort to fix the many problems encountered. The ac didn't work on the middle level, the power was out in part of the house, the pool heater was turned on mid week, the mattresses all have huge dips and there was several bugs, roaches, dead and alive. Seth and Patrick tried their best to help. Window units were installed, extension cords were run throughout the house, the power company came late to check the power outage.

Great location and awesome pool!

I stayed here with a big group of family and our dog. The house is in a great location, walking distance from the beach and also has a great pool/hot tub area. The house was clean, and rooms were all a good size with typically OBX decor! We had a very positive experience overall.

Great Stay in OBX

The OBX is a wonderful place! The house was clean and as described. It was a short walk to the beach. The pool was clean and very good. My only two suggestions are the mattress’s need to be replaced and for the cost of the rental there really should be a gas grill. Would definitely stay there again.

Nice House with short walk to the beach

We enjoyed our trip and the property was very nice. Unfortunately the hot tub didn't work and the heat also didn't work on the lower levels. However, overall we had a great time and look forward to going back next Fall.

Great Family Home

We hosted our entire family with 7 adults, 3 young kids, and an infant and it was perfect for us. Not only did each family have their own rooms and privacy, but we all had our own bathrooms too which was huge for convenience and privacy. The private pool was perfect for nap times and in between beach visits. You are in the middle of two huge shopping centers that can be easily accessed by car or bike rides with a path the entire way. The neighborhood was quiet and the distance to the beach was easy with fun nature trails on the way. This house was perfect for our family and a great way to show our extended family the beauty of ocean sands and Corolla for the first time. We would come back again in a heartbeat.

Made this a great first stay at OBX

This was our family’s first stay at OBX and this house was perfect to get used to the area and enjoy the beach. House has enough space for 3 families. The kids enjoyed the pool. Could use updating of beds and the walk to beach was 2 blocks. We had 2 safety concerns and the maintenance team came out extremely quick to fix. Overall it was a great stay and location.

Perfect for our Needs

Perfect house for a family get together. My only wishes would have been for a heated pool and a hot tub that heated quicker. Only other recommendation would be to replace the grill top and actual grille on the in ground charcoal grill.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The only issue we had was beach access due to the fact we had a 1 1/2 month old baby and to get to beach we had a LOT of steps over the dune to get to the beach. This was impossible so we drove each day to the public beach access area. I had no idea this was the case but that is my fault for not inquiring. The house was perfect.

OSL-1Sweet Escape

Sweet Escape needs some repairs. There was no blind or curtain on main master bathroom window. Door shelves in refrigerator were broken and only taped on. And last one of dining room chairs was broken and only fixed with staples. This property needs some upgrading. lastly access to beach was difficult with the Large number of stairs to the beach

Not worth the stay

We were not pleased with the home, especially for the amount of money that is paid. The floors were dirty (our feet were literally black within walking through the house in a couple hours), one of the bedrooms didn't even have comforters left as we had to contact housekeeping. The air vents were covered with dust and dirt along with 2 lounge chairs outside by the pool are cracked/broken. The upper deck has loose spindles along with trim and shingles are broken/missing from the house in areas. There was no hospitality in the sense of any information in regards to beach access or community access to anything. We needed to go back and look on our own map for beach access points long with any other information. Having stayed/rented homes every year for vacation we were not pleased at all with this home. We love the Outer Banks but this home was not worth the money we spent to stay the week.

Customer Service excellent, property condition mediocre

First, I want to start by sending a shout out to the customer service contact for this rental: they were great and answered all my questions promptly and cheerfully. They gave us food recommendations that helped us have a fantastic holiday. If they were all that I were reviewing, this would be a five star review. However, this property shows signs of wear and of maintenance neglect. The heat for the lower floors was not functioning for our November stay, and the lower floors remained at or below 60 degrees the entire time we were there. Routine maintenance checks of the system would have negated this, as there was missing insulation on the pipes that caused them to freeze and trigger the auto shut off. We were all looking forward to being able to have an evening beverage in the hot tub, and that was one of the reasons we chose this property. Alas, the temperature never rose above 88 degrees (Sat AM) despite our turning it up to get to temp on Weds evening. These are the two most disappointing aspects of our stay. There were several other small signs of delayed investment in the house (broken coffee pot, etc). One thing that the kids wanted me to say was that the Fooseball table is top notch. There were many rowdy tournaments enjoyed. Overall, We had a pleasant stay because of the company we were with, but the house could use a little TLC.

Listing photos represent the property well. Our only issue was the cleanliness of the kitchen upon arrival - there were food crumbs and dead bugs all over the floor and dishes in the dishwasher. We contacted both the Housekeeping and Maintenance crews and didn't receive a response from either. For the very high cleaning fee, the kitchen should've been in much better shape. There were also nail heads sticking up on the decks - beware with bare feet. Other than those issues, we had a great stay. It is walkable to the beach and in a quiet, conveniently located neighborhood.
