“We absolutely loved our stay at Sambal Azul! The house was even better than pictured. It was pristine, had beautiful views, comfortable furniture and a well stocked kitchen. We ate dinner on the porch every night while the kids swam. We used the grill most days, and the house was also stocked with coolers, pool noodles, beach chairs, sunscreen- anything we needed for the beach. It also got great breezes-we kept the windows open most of the time we were at the house and we were always comfortable……

“The property is in excellent condition. Close to town but not too close. The views were absolutely amazing. Tim was a very attentive host and was quick in responding to any questions. Absolutely, loved our stay!”

“The cottage was mostly clean. Washer and dryer were available in the unit. The photos depicting the property were very obviously old. The pool had paint chipped throughout and loaded with insects. After our first day it was cleaned but still unattractive. It was then loaded with chlorine. There was no drain cover in the pool. We had warm water the first day but ice cold after that. Many calls to the host to no avail. We had to shower in cold water 7 days. We did end up receiving a refund……

“The house is as advertised. We had 5 adults and 3 children (ages 10, 7, and 3), and the house was perfect. Plenty of space to spread-out. Note, the pool is beautiful but is 5' deep...it has a couple of helpful ledges though. In terms of location, it is about a 7-minute drive from Cruz Bay. Because of the hills and lack of sidewalks, you would not want to walk it. Overall, we highly recommend the house for a family. ”

“We stayed in this villa with 3 generations of family from age 9 months through 75 years. Everyone thought the villa was well designed and enjoyed it. It was spotless. We would all return. We expected and enjoyed the typical, tropical indoor/outdoor style of the villa, with its outdoor staircases. One of the staircases needs new lights and flashlights were provided. The other staircase is lit and beautiful. The kitchen and greatroom design was a pleasure. Some of the pots in the kitchen……

“The property was beautiful.The views were amazing. The pool was fabulous. I wish we had been more informed about the kitchen and living room having no air condition. it was too hot to cook in the kitchen and sitting upstairs was not an option until the evening due to the heat.The host and the listings also need to upfront about the ongoing power problems in St Jon and St Thomas. With the price they are renting this property fort needs some updating.Start with a generator to offset the ongoing……

“Owners were quick to accommodate us after we issues with our first rental. Very nice layout on main floor. Our children were older so not an issue but you need to walk outside and down a lower staircase to 2 bedrooms in a walkout level. Keep in mind if traveling with small children. Driveway like all roads in driveways and roads is steep. Helps to walk it first when you areive. Deck is awesome, great views with well stocked kitchen”
