  • Welcome to Sun Fargo, a beautifully remodeled second‑floor condo at The Islander on Destin’s exclusive Holiday Isle at 502 Gulf Shores Drive. This Platinum‑rated unit is currently offered at a discounted Gold rate and comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests. Enjoy a quiet, gated location with private beach access, resort amenities, and sweeping views of Lake Christina and the East Pass.

    Inside, the condo features a 2023 open‑concept renovation with new LVP flooring, updated lighting, coastal‑contemporary décor, and a fully remodeled kitchen with quartz countertops, stainless‑steel appliances, Keurig, standard coffee maker, and air fryer. The living area includes a 65" Smart TV and a queen sleeper sofa.

    The master suite offers a king bed, ample storage, 42” Smart TV, and an ensuite bathroom with double sinks and granite counters. The guest bedroom includes a queen bed, high‑low twin bunks, 42” Smart TV, and a pack‑and‑play for families.

    Guests enjoy full access to The Islander’s amenities, including private gated beach access, FREE beach service (Mar 1–Oct 31), two pools (one heated in winter), two hot tubs, tennis courts, four pickleball courts, shuffleboard, half basketball court, grilling pavilion, mini fitness center, and on‑site laundry with towel/linen exchange on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Seasonal activities include dive‑in movies, sandcastle lessons, arts & crafts, and live music.

    Your stay also includes FREE daily tickets to top local attractions such as Big Kahuna’s Waterpark, Sea Blaster Dolphin Cruise, deep sea fishing, Cruisin’ Tikis, and several premier golf courses. Extra beach gear—chairs, umbrellas, toys, and a wagon—is provided in the unit.

Clean, comfortable and conveniently located on Emerald Isle. The heated pool was great, we even had a couple of days that were nice enough to spend some time on the beach. We will definitely be returning!

Reviewer Comments: We've been staying in this unit for years and we just had another great week there! The condo was nice, the staff was friendly and the weather was perfect! Love the updated look at the resort too! The only issue we had was with the beach set up and gate - it appears that the gate has been broken for some time so anyone can come onto the property. Also the usual concierge (who was amazing!) was not there all week and if anyone was there, they didn't do anything. All of the chairs are lined up in rows and pretty close to the water, making it hard to tell which ones are for the Islander. We prefer the old set up which kind of separated the resorts (it was in a horse shoe pattern). We look forward to another week next summer!

This is our second time staying in this unit and it definitely needs some TLC. The furniture is fine and it's decorated nicely, but there was a weird smell that never went away, the lights constantly flicker or dim then go back to normal, and we had an issue with bugs (though I did see them spraying around the property near the end of our trip so maybe it was just that time). The paint is peeling off the ceiling in a couple of rooms as well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back, but we will likely try a different unit (which is unfortunate because we really like the location and set up of this one)!

My children loved the bunk beds! We come every year and would definitely recommend this unit to our friends as well. My only recommendation would be to possibly replace the stove. Boiling a pot took quite a bit of time and when you have hungry kids begging for Mac n cheese that was the only issue. I guess my kids need to learn a little more patience haha!

Wedding Destination February 22, 2022!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First let me say we stayed 8 days and 7 nights. The property looked like an old hotel . The location was convenient to a lot of places. A cozy unit but a false sense of security upon arrival. First the entrance gate that they gave us a code for remained unlocked and opened 24/7, but the exit side was was always closed and operated as expected.We did not appreciate that because we paid for the a secured parking/ location. The pictures on the Internet of the Islander were not what we saw when we arrived (disappointing). The office and conference room pictures got my attention when looking for a location to stay but when we arrived we were thoroughly disappointed. Now the linen/ blankets smelled used and the bed was not comfortable, the mattress was wormed so this bride did not get a restful night at all during the seven night stay. The bathroom ceilings looked a bit cruddy with hair in the bathtub. And the most disappointing thing was, we were given a 10am checkout time. My husband took our luggage to the car and came back before 9:30am and they had already turned the key off. WOW!!!! Luckily I was still in the room to let him in. We were so outdone until we left my much needed and brand new personal humidifier in the bedroom. Our Wedding was on the beach and Our gate key didn’t work for the gate on the first day, we immediately reported it and the office staff they were not interested and not trying to help resolve the issue. The man just said it should of worked. Wow! But ironically the next day the key worked. Then on the wedding day the key they gave the officiant didn’t work. Unbelievable. Luckily nice people leaving let them in. But our special occasion took precedence over everything. Overall The unit was clean and all the appliances worked Also lots of nice cooking utensils and dishes. The pool and hot tub area appeared to be clean. The laundry room was very very outdated but the machines did work. Not sure if we will return for the a
