The cottage is one a of a square formed of similar units. Each unit has outside seating. It is not a particularly beautiful setting with a car workshop and car lot sharing the site - but there is always something of interest going on - the restoration of an old bus at present! And ample off-road parking. Road connections are very convenient - it's on a road from Dorchester through to the coast at Abbotsbury and close to the A35 which is one of the main cross-country routes. Internally, the cottage is smart and modern. We found all the amenities to be excellent, really thoughtfully provisioned. In the kitchen area, microwave and full sized oven, large selection of kitchen implements. Full sized bath and shower, comfortable beds, TV with Freesat and DVD player. All tastefully done. Our hosts were unfailingly friendly and helpful. The place had clearly been fully cleaned to a very high standard - but in these Covid times, you will probably want to take your own antiviral cleansing materials just to be on the safe side. We found 2 good pubs, one in Portersham (where there is also an excellent farm shop/delicatessen) and the other (Brewers Arms) in Martinstown. We preferred the latter with its larger menu and careful Covid precautions. And it does excellent take-aways. The area is a joy and we had a wonderful break after all the privations of lockdown etc.
