“This Inn is a olde style building with wooden beams in the bedrooms etc. As such with this type of building there are low ceilings and hardly a straight wall anywhere. We found that our room although quaint wasn’t spotless as other places we’ve stayed. One of the two window blinds didn’t work, we couldn’t get it to drop down. Not a huge issue as the other blind did close. The biggest issue for us was that one of the two electric fans in the room was so dirty that if you had switched it on the……

“Room was clean but starting to look a little bit tired. Had a great nights sleep.”

“It's a lovely old place and very well maintained. The bed so cery comfortable. And a lovely old oub with a true Thomas Hardy room. He had his own table there! I had a beautiful breakfast. I return there in another week or so for another night and will take my friends there for dinner, the menu looks delicious. I'm so pleased to have stayed there and meeying their lovely staff.”

“Wonderful location, good dining options and lovely sized clean room”

“Breakfast was great and super friendly staff.”

“Very enjoyable stay at The George. Staff very helpful, breakfast was great, didn't need lunch any of the days we stayed. Room 3 was perfect for a family, two separate rooms with a bathroom in between.”

“Rooms needed upgrading. Smelt of damp and no decent ventilation in shower room which didn’t help. Shower clean but old.Breakfast only served between 8-9 even at weekend. Food good. But they did try to charge for room again when I’d paid in full when booked. They did refund it.”

“We stayed at the Brace of Pheasants for one night and it was really lovely. The room was big, airy and beautifully furnished. The bed was very comfortable and the linen was lovely. We ate dinner in the pub and it was absolutely delicious. I am coeliac and Matt, the owner, was very knowledgeable when helping me to decide what to have. There were several choices for me and I can thoroughly recommend the lamb. My husband was on crutches when we stayed and the staff were very thoughtful and……

“Arrived at the property and it has closed for business leaving us stranded at the height of summer when everything is booked up. We are hours from home on a road trip.Taken our money months ago and no word from the owners, still listed online and still taking bookings. Landlord at a local pub told us tbey had gone bust. Shocking behaviour!! Beware of booking here, need to take it from your website! Doing a chargeback with credit card.”

“Beautiful location with stunning views. The room was contemporary and well equipped. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent, as was the many choices of beers and wine. Ample parking with easy access. My only negative with the room is that the shower cubicle and bathroom could do with some maintenance by way of grouting and sealing, as there was quite a bit of mould in the shower. If you are a light sleeper, you may be woken up by the guests below using……
