“Some areas showed their age . Staff where courteous and kind . Views are wonderful but the terrace needs tidying up. Breakfast was like a feast! 25 to 30 years ago we used to come regularly for several holidays a year. It's an old building and needs a brush up. They've tried to maximise money making on the terrace not all of which is easy on the eye . However despite criticism I'm already planning a return trip .”

“Filthy carpets in desperate need of being replaced; decor is awful for such an expensive hotel, the dust was awful, hairs on towels, grime in the bath, broken toilet cystern button, expensive breakfast and poor quality food. Curtains missing hooks. Extractor fan in bathroom doesn’t do anything. There’s more negatives but this will do. Parking so close to the sea is the only positive and only reason I would return. “located in the small downtown Lyme Regis, easy to go to the beach, shops and restaurants it is an very old inn, very tradition english wooden building, downstair is the bar and restaurant, a bit oily smell, beware of no air-con”

“I thought the hotel was ridiculously overpriced for what it was. The property is run down. There was peeling paint in our room and rust in the loo and on the radiator. The other side of the hotel had a cool breeze but our room was small and stifling in the heat. The bathroom was tiny with an almost miniature hand basin. The pillows were hard. There were no amenities such as toiletries, not even a box of tissues. The staff were pleasant enough, but the hotel is priced like a luxury country house……
