A wonderful hotel. We had views of the sea and watched amazing sun rises. The breakfast included was delicious and plentiful. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly r commend staying here

We stayed four nights and really enjoyed it, the staff were kind and attentive, and went out of their way to help imperious ways. I wouldn’t say the breakfasts were as magnificent as some people have implied, it’s a pretty limited menu and if you go off the menu, things aren’t always great, but the coffee machine was fabulous.

Great hotel!

My favourite hotel in Douglas and very near to everywhere I need to walk to for work. Friendly, lovely big rooms (they upgraded me free of charge to a huge room as I stay often). Great view over the sea front. Breakfast is quality - good ingredients, cooked to order. Very happy with everything.

Well positioned hotel in the rather faded Douglas sea front parade. Very good breakfast with lots of choices, and we ate in the restaurant in the evening. The Belgian beef stew was very good

Comfortable and Fantastic service

What great service, Reception is so friendly and nothing is a problem. Breakfast is great, lots of fresh fruit and pastries. Really great hot chocolates and waffles. Rooms are beautifully done, the housekeeping staff take such care and have such fantastic attention to details. Definately a great place to stay.
Comfy with plenty of pillows.
Loved the wet room shower with great lighting.
Mini bar and tea selection is great.

Staff were very attentive and friendly. The hotel was very clean. I liked the mini-bar was topped up each day for free. The room walls are a bit thin and you can hear next door quite easily. They do supply ear plugs which helps.

Lovely and clean, friendly staff and great location, walking distance to Bus Station, Steam train and Electric tram to get around the island. Only issue was the walls in our room were thin and next doors toilet was the other side, so every morning we were woken up by them using the toilet!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place

We had a long weekend here and we were not disappointed. EVERYONE absolutley everyone could not do enough for us. As it was our 40th wedding ann they decorated the room with balloons.NO CHARGE The food was fab, wine by the bottle a tad expensive. The Belgium Beef Stew was OMG delicious. The beds mega comfy, the room spotless, the attention to detail even down to making flowers in the toilet roll and tissue boxes. WE can not wait to go back. Pete no more pranks on the youngster, until we get back lols.They even pointed me in the direction of Trike Hire Company. MEGA stay thanks guys.

Love this hotel

My 2nd stay at the Halvard and it didn’t disappoint. Staff are amazing and very friendly. Rooms are very nice and the bed is very nice and bathroom modern, would have liked there to have been a bath but it’s only minor. Breakfast is very nice and views out to see are great. Hotel has no parking - you can park on the promenade if you time it right, after 4.15 and cars start to leave so spaces come availible and will be free till 8am (if you change you parking disc to 8 after 6pm the you have until 10am. Otherwise it’s a short walk to a multi-storey. One negative with me room (103) is the lift shaft runs by my room and is very noisy so I was woken a couple of times around 6.30 when someone used it.

Lovely hotel on the prom - fantastic service with great attention to details. Very nice breakfast and food selection. Unfortunately, we did not checked the previous reviews and booked the room facing the back of the hotel, which was exposed to loud music every evening , till quite late. There were earplugs available- which were very helpful, still we will know better for our next stay.

Honestly, the property is lovely and the staff, food and service is top notch. The only drawback is that if your room faces the back, there are bars, shopping and restaurants that can be supremely noisy at night. The first night, there was hollering, drinking and loud carousing until 4:30 am. I was unable to sleep at all. The next night, the noise quieted down around midnight. Just be advised that the hotel abuts a very noisy area where there's late night loud carousing.
