"There always has to be one and I’m it this time. Booked 1 night for basketball tournament and a few days later booked another night because the weather was turning bad. Notified hotel at check-in and via message on website of 2 separate bookings but 2 nights together so we could stay in same room. Chose pay at hotel for first booking and was charged on card full amount 2 days after booking and before our travel. Directly after check-in we went back to the office needing something, waited around for about 10 minutes and nobody showed up, they were gone. After 1st night went out to eat and keys didn’t work on door when we returned. Nobody was in the office or anywhere else. Called their phone number twice and received answering service that stated they’d send a message to the computer nobody was manning. Finally the maintenance guy showed up and he phoned someone to let us in our room after about 30-45 minutes of trying to contact someone. Leaving today and see they’ve double charged us which is pretty irritating after everything else and a night of loose sheets that came off the bed. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but we can hear all the traffic on Hwy 50. I understand things happen and off season but all events combined has become too much. Staying here again is a definite no."

"House is listed as 3 bed 2 bath but the third bedroom is an office the size of a closet. We were confused on check in looking for the third bedroom. Host was fairly rude about the situation. House shouldn’t be listed as anything above 2 bed. The office was small with hardly any space for luggage. House is also heated by “passive solar” which just means you’re supposed to open the blinds in the morning. It was pretty chilly when we checked it because of this. Space heaters are available for use at night. If you want to keep the house warm you just have to keep one of those running which is pretty sketchy. It was walkable to downtown Salida which was probably the only part that seemed as advertised with this stay. Overall would not stay here again. "
