Lovely lodge in beautiful surroundings
We had another fabulous stay in Deercroft 6, spotlessly clean, beautiful surroundings, everything you need is there.
Great location to explore Argyll and Bute. Lodge was clean and as described in listing and comments. Lots of great places to explore close by.

Beautiful lodge, clean and well appointed
Stayed here before and will definitely be going back. The lodge is a credit to its owners. Immaculately clean and has everything you could possibly need. Highly recommended

Good value for money but basic
Lodge was basic but in need of upgrading in some areas and a deeper clean, especially the kitchen area
We had a great 2 weeks stay at this lovely lodge. We were really pleased with the whole experience from start to the end. Michelle and Ian were very hospitable and they arranged everything for us with the most efficient and effective way.
The lodge is situated within a beautiful location with stunning views at the Holy loch. We enjoyed lovely dinners at the balcony even when it was raining!
Overall very comfortable and clean, nothing missed -we had all amenities required handy for an easy and relaxing holiday.
Thank you for the kind hospitality and for the great experience 😊. Highly recommend!

The condition of the outside of the property is poor, especially at the entrance. Bushes need trimmed and hole in the wood beside the front door is of putting. There is a broken spar on the balcony and a lose one. The tv set up was terrible kept losing signal and took ages to get it back. I recommend you visit your property and sort tv set up and tidy up your entrance and garden it's rather of putting

Comfortable lodge , but shame about access
The lodge itself was in good condition , well equipped and comfortable . The real disappointment and hassle was the access to it . We had to use a separate access to the lodges than pretty much everyone else staying there . This required negotiating a deeply rutted track which damaged one of my alloy wheels because the depth of one of the pot holes could not be judged as it was full of water from the heavy rain we experienced ( and i was going very slowly ) . All other guests staying in the other lodges ( including those on short stays ) used the main park entrance , which had excellent road surfaces , and had a card to control the barriers that we didn't have . This lack of a card for the barriers also meant we had to lug all of our rubbish and recycling across quite a few 100 meters of the park instead of being able to drop it off in the car . So although the lodge itself was OK this poor access compared to everyone else means we would not recommend .

Poor customer service no heart.
I booked this holiday home for my family for 6 days on 14th November we just arrived and before we could unpack to enjoy our holiday I received a call say my mum had passed away I contacted the argyll self catering holidays immediately to inform them I'd be going home did not contact me say I could get full or part refund witch I found left bad taste in my mouth I'll never be back here and advice people thinking off going through this company think again.
Lodge was lovely. Very clean. Nice towels and bedding. Beds very comfy. All mod cons including fast Wi-Fi, Netflix etc. Park itself was pristine, weather was great, no rain for a change. Would highly recommend. A+ Short break.

6 DEERCROFT HUTERS QUAY DUNOON
Was a little disappointed with this lodge on arrival. With the amount paid for our stay we thought this lodge could be updated decor wise. The kitchen and bathroom are very nice and new but the bedrooms and living area could be doing with being freshened up. Upon walking in the entrance smelled very damp but it was the mop and bucket that seemed to be causing it. The lodge bedding was clean, we had to hoover the ceiling area as my daughter hates spiders and there were plenty cobwebs. Overall i would say it was nice, some attention could be paid to some minor thing to make stay more comfortable. The road we had to use to access the lodge was awful especially as we have a new car. Plenty of pot hole. Stayed before with a private owner and we could pay a deposit to get passes for the gates. Went to get passes and was bluntly told NO as this was a private lodge and we must use the road at Hafton Castle. Perhaps the owners could look into to getting road repaired with other private owners or negotiate with Hunters Quay for passes.

Staying at 6 Deer croft
We stayed for a week at this beautifully situated lodge near Dunoon. It was a family get together and commemoration so meant a lot to us.
Lodge very comfortable with the exception of bunk bed mattresses which urgently require replacement. Kitchen and lounge well equipped as was other bedrooms.
Shower good. Toilet seat broken . We tried to fix but could not. Clear commands left in Lodge for cleaning prior to leaving. We did so and left it as we found it. A general note, the back road is full of potholes and is in dire need of repair before someone damages their suspension.
Would stay again.

A beautiful setting in the Cowal peninsula
The access road was in a very poor state. The lodge smelled strongly of dampness, coming from the bathroom, and the paintwork was in need of a refresh. Towels were poor quality. Seating and bed were very comfortable, and while the lodge was spacious for 2 people, it would have felt cramped with a family of six. However, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained and it was very peaceful. Onsite basic shop and leisure facilities were great for families, and Dunoon's facilities are not far away. We discovered the key card which gave access to the main entrance with barrier controls. A clearer explanation of this facility would have helped access throughout our stay.
Comfortable and clean property. The perfect place for us to base ourselves whilst attending a wedding in the area.

Great family holiday
We enjoyed our time in the lodge, rooms were nice, bathroom has been redone since we were there last, towels were provided along with various kitchen supplies. Great little balcony at the front to sit and relax when the weather is good. Ample parking for 2 cars and not too far from the main centre. The only fault was the bins are quite a way from the lodge, not the owners fault as it’s the only ones close in the park. But a trek with big bags. As for cleanliness I only gave 4 stars as there was dirt and dust along the skirting and having young kids who like to touch everything it was noticeable, a small section was broken at the window too, I just made sure kids didn’t go near it. Other than that it was clean and inviting. I would definitely recommend and go back

Great stay
We really enjoyed our stay. It was clean, had all the amenities and was close to places we wanted to visit. It was pretty hard to find at night, but there isn't too much that can be done about it. One thing that I would highlight that wasn't great experience was that the cleaners have arrived at 9:30 (checkout was at 10:00) and they were just standing there with their car engines switched on. It made us really uncomfortable. They could have parked a little bit further away, or at least come over and ask if they could come in (we were 95% out of the house anyway).
The property was good and clean. Finding the property in the dark and rain was a problem. The entry road was a shambles and the road has not improved over the years (used to visit these properties years ago)
Blind on the kitchen window was missing. The fake grass on the steps up to the door was off putting. It would have been better with stick on gravel stepps like on the ferries. That aside, the property was clean and in good order.

Nice New year break
The lodge was very nice, modern with good facilities. Good value for money. The road up to the property is not great you have to go extremely slow and avoid a lot of pot holes and bumps along the way and directions but the greatest for the dark conditions you arrive in. Location was handy for good walks with the dog and local amenities within 5min drive. Very peaceful location, would definitely return.

In the words of Arnie.. Il be back!
Used to stay here many a time when last owner had it, we described it before as rustic and although basic, we enjoyed it as Hunters Quay holds great memories for our Family. Fast forward to Oct 2021 and we book again as part of my Mums 80th,new owners, practically new lodge! Great reclining sofas and single seat which is SO comfy, lovely walk in shower/bathroom. Nice fresh trebdy bedding.. All together a much improved stay at a great price!
Had a few tiny "issues", and I mean tiny but obv have to report, the text from Michelle was delay with swiftly, politely and informativley.. Such a nice person and for that reason, we're returning, hopefully Jan /Feb.. Can't wait.
Recommend!

Short break
We booked 6 Deercroft at fairly short notice, having looked at lots of different options in Argyll. This property was competitively priced & had the space we needed.
We found the property to be clean and well equipped for what we needed. Communication with the agent was good & our break went without a hitch.
Our only constructive feedback would be some info on how to turn the bathroom heater off; it was 24 degrees during our stay and the towel rail in the bathroom was red hot which made the chalet too warm. Also, this might not be in the owners gift to sort but as we didn't have a pass for the barrier to come up via hunters quay, we had to use the access road up by the castle. This road is in dire need of repair as the surface is rutted & uneven.
Otherwise, we had a lovely stay & wouldn't hesitate to return

Lovely lodge in a beautiful setting
I think we’ve stayed in this lodge 6 years. First time with the new owners. Few things have been upgraded since last year. Lovely new shower, comfy beds and lounge furniture great for relaxing at the end of the day. It’s set in a beautiful location, lovely views sitting on the balcony to enjoy a small refreshment. Only a ten minute walk to the restaurant where they serve good food at a reasonable price.
