“We recently stayed at May Cottage and it was just what we needed. The cottage is lovely and much bigger than we anticipated, especially the bedrooms - they’re a really big! Kitchen has everything you need and even though we had taken hand wash and washing up liquid etc, it was all provided. Even dishwasher tablets! The views from the garden are exceptional and it was very quiet. We loved sitting watching the families of swallows flying in and out of their nests and listening their babies……

“While traveling with our 15 year old son we stayed the weekend in this lovely cottage on the property of Victor an Carina just south of Edinburgh. The hosts are showed wonderful hospitality and the cottage is comfortably set up to sleep three (or four). Great attention to details of all we needed for a comfortable stay including notes for outings in the area and for getting to Edinburgh by bus or train. We definitely want to return to this beautiful cottage with wonderful hosts.”

“Excellent location, close to a park with a great coffee shop. Short walk to other amenities such as the supermarket and town centre Only minor gripe is that we could really have done with a couple of extra pillows but we borrowed some off a family member who lives locally ”

“We've just returned from fantastic break in Portobello. I've holidayed in Edinburgh a number of times but this was the first time in Portobello and we would definitely return (and return to this great pad too!) The area was trendy, cool with lots of great places to eat and drink, topped off with an amazing, beautiful beach. The beach, whilst dog-friendly , was perfectly clean and well maintained. Patricks pad also provided a great place to venture a little further out and explore the wider……

“Absolutely beautiful stay. The lodge itself was gorgeous, in a great setting and the views are spectacular. Quiet and peaceful, no disturbance whatsoever. The surroundings are just spectacular. We mentioned it was our little minimoon and they very kindly left us some chocolates and a bottle of fizz. Amazing stay exactly what we needed. Wish we could have stayed longer xxxx”

“We really enjoyed our stay at Chesnut Cottage ! Very cosy, warm, welcoming little house ! Thank you for welcoming us and our dog ! The Arniston Estate is lovely, very calm. A nice place for walks. Very dark at night, we had the chance to see plenty of stars when the sky was clear enough. The fireplace with everything needed and the bathtube were the cherry on top ! Easy to access from Edinburgh airport. The train station of Gorebridge is also a big plus. 25min by train and you're in the town……

“We had a last minute change of plans and I needed to find suitable accommodation for my family of 4. I came across the 'Garden House' in my initial search and compared 5 other similar solutions. None measured up and that was only based on the images. The pictures undersold the property, utterly. The Garden House became a serendipitous highlight of our trip to Edinburgh. The location, setting, layout, preparation, standards, provisions were are excellent. The setting within Oxenford Castle……

“Such a great location and a beautiful little cabin, spotlessly clean and welcoming. We arrived to the lights on and a welcome drink and chocolates which was very thoughtful. There’s so much to explore - amazing beaches, the nearby castle and of course Drift Cafe which is probably the best cafe I’ve been to. Would highly recommend.”

“My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Lodge. Beds were excellent and we enjoyed a good night’s sleep. Parking was easy. Liz was very responsive to any questions we had. And the lounge was a perfect place to relax after a day out. We were only 2 but 4 people would be very comfortable. Jean”

“Well furnished with good-sized rooms including handy utility room and good-sized downstairs cloakroom. Great location in the centre of Wooler with its own parking, though proximity to the church bells was problematic for one guest. Despite that, I'd definitely recommend.”
