"An amazing first time at Dakota Newcastle. Parking was easy, although the 10p additional booking fee seems a bit cheeky. Reception was great. The staff were polite and courteous. The room was fantastic, with probably the most comfortable hotel bed I have slept in. A very spacious and well equipped bathroom. All in an excellent stay."

"A clean and comfortable hotel in a prime place to explore Newcastle, Gateshead and surrounding areas. It’s in need of a little TLC - chipped enamel in the bath, peeling paint in the bathroom, bulb not working in the bedroom. Yes you have to pay to park overnight but there is no guarantee you will get a parking place and we had to park in a public car park 10 minutes walk away for two out of our 3 nights. Breakfasts were good and we had one evening meal which was fine but heard another guest saying she had to return her food three times as it was a reheat and it was still cold."

"The property is nice, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it a good option for a short stay in Durham. The room was clean, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. One thing to keep in mind is the location. If you plan to visit Durham city centre frequently, Uber fares can be around £15 each way, so it is worth factoring this into your budget. The hotel is a good choice if you have your own transport or don't mind spending a little extra on getting around."
