"A long haul and flight of stairs to an inconvenient room location. We’re 77 and in shape, but will request better location in future. Scrambled eggs were dry and tasteless. Otherwise, breakfast was good. No restroom in lobby/breakfast area. "

"We stayed at this hotel due to its proximity to Carlsbad caverns. The room was spacious and very clean. Bed was comfortable. The reception area is in dire need of updating. Reception staff was friendly, however, when we registered, the receptionist was watching a very sexual scene on the TV and made no move to turn it down or off. I’m glad our children were left in the car. It was very unsettling when we hadn’t seen our room yet! Breakfast was in the very small reception area and consisted of cereal, fruit, and muffins. We chose to eat at the only restaurant next door which was delicious. This hotel is isolated so eat in Carlsbad before you get to the hotel as the restaurant closes at 3 pm. The rooms are clean and comfortable and as close to the caverns as you can get."

"This was one of the better stays on my trip throughout New Mexico. The staff was kind and courteous. The rooms were extremely clean. The bedding was comfortable. The property was well maintained and the facilities were great. "

"The restaurant and bar were both cozy and welcoming. The bar was well stocked with high end whiskey, gin, and tequila. The wine selection was also spot on...The bar waitstaff was friendly. The front desk lady was a tad bit rude to myself and a couple that came after me, but the rest of the staff was cordial and accommodating. It is a nice property, and I loved the music and sitting area in front of the fireplace. My bed was also SO comfortable!"
