We rented this property to house a team of engineers working on a project in Pharr for 90 days, but it was not as advertised and fell far short of expectations. Major issues emerged immediately: - Hot Water: The property had no hot water for the first week. While eventually resolved, it caused significant inconvenience. - Hygiene Concerns: The home had severe infestations of mold, cockroaches, and even snakes, making it unsafe and unsanitary. Cockroaches were frequently found on countertops and the refrigerator, and visible mold in the freezer was dismissed by the host despite photographic evidence. - Safety Issues: The property lacked critical security, with no lock on the garage entrance and unchecked smoke detectors. Additionally, one of our engineers was injured due to a faulty shower repair. The host failed to resolve key concerns, offering excuses rather than solutions. After 30 days, we vacated the property, as advised by VRBO, but received no refund for the unused rental period. It became clear this property was being flipped for resale rather than properly maintained for renters. The lack of attention to cleanliness, safety, and furnishings was evident throughout our stay. This experience has been fully documented with photos and correspondence. We strongly caution potential renters to avoid this property due to its poor condition and lack of host accountability.
