We stayed at this hotel to attend a conference as it was connected to the NECC exhibition, it was a great stsy, the room big , breakfast was excellent, many options, staff all nice&helpful, the only downside was that the hotel is far from main attraction in the city , taxis were cheap though .

Amazing staffs. Came as a business trip with young kids. Very accommodating and staffs went above and beyond to help us during check-in process. Morning breakfast is also delicious with freshly made fried dumpling and a good variety. Concierge desk offers great advice for nearby sightseeing designations.

Hi there,Hotel is great location for the Trade show i visited The Room was nice but starts to show wear, many light bulbs did not work, but once i said that was a problem they were immediately replaced, Toilet door lock broke leaving us stuck in the toilet most embarrassing

Good for business travels

Breakfast is good a wide selection of food and drinks. Room cleaning is surprisingly good the lady even helped me set up a nice display of many tiny bottles of various stuffs in the bathroom that i feel being taken good care of. Location is nearby high speed train station, HQ airport and National convention centre which is super for business however quite remote and no shops around.

Hotel was relatively new. Easy access to the metro but do require some walk. There were few things to do nearby besides the exhibition center. Room was quite spacious with a good bathtub. Plenty of bottled water provided. It even had a Bose speaker. Swimming pool was decent and never too crowded. Breakfast selection was outstanding and miles ahead of anything offered in Europe or the Americas. IHG members were given drink coupons that you could redeem for wine and such, which was good.

Everything you need

Absolutely perfect. If you are attending something at the exhibition centre, this is the closest accomodation and is worth every cent of attending during Winter as you don’t have to go outside at all 🙏 Chinese restaurant onsite has amazing food. Buffet breakfast is great each morning and the rooms are also awesome. You can’t go wrong with this choice. Our second time staying here and it won’t be our last.

Good but could be slightly better!

Great hotel but a couple of annoying things. I chose the hotel primarily because of its location to Hongqiao station only to find out ‘post Covid’ they have stopped the shuttle bus to both airport and train station- slightly annoying. Bru Bar whilst decent could with a better food selection along with some better draught beer options. A/C in the room didn’t work- it was only blowing warm air- really not comfortable. An engineer came but all to no avail. Overall- not sure if I would choose it again (for my own purposes) but still a good hotel and great choice for any Fairs. Special mention to Kathleen (Manager of Club Lounge) - such a nice, polite and helpful person.

We recently stayed at the InterContinental Shanghai Hongqiao NECC and had a mixed experience. The Positives: The hotel lobby is impressive—spacious, modern, and welcoming. The standout feature for our family was the pool, which was clean and well-maintained. The buffet breakfast was another highlight: vast in variety, fresh, and truly exceptional in both quality and quantity. It's one of the best we've experienced in terms of sheer range. The Negatives: Unfortunately, the rooms didn’t meet the same standard. There was a strong, stale smell of cigarette smoke in the room that lingered throughout our stay, which made it quite unpleasant. The cleanliness was underwhelming, with visible hair and mold in the bathroom, which shouldn’t be the case at a hotel of this caliber. The double beds were surprisingly small—definitely something to consider if you're traveling with family or expect more spacious accommodations. Other Considerations: The location is a significant drawback if you're planning to explore central Shanghai. It took us over 40 minutes to reach the city, and the area around the hotel feels quite remote unless you're attending an event at the NECC. During our stay, we noticed that there were no other Western guests, which wasn’t a problem but did feel a bit isolating at times depending on your expectations for international clientele and service standards. Overall: This hotel may suit business travellers attending events at the nearby Exhibition and Convention Center.

Likes: - This hotel is great. The check-in and check-out processes were incredibly smooth, taking no more than 4 minutes. - The room was very spacious and clean. - Breakfast was nice. While there weren't many Western options, it was still better than any other hotel I've stayed at in Shanghai. - The staff were very helpful and fluent in English. Dislikes: - Typically in Shanghai, hotels have robots that deliver food to your room. However, at this hotel, you have to go down and outside every time you order something. It would be amazing if they introduced robots or room deliveries. - There were no facilities. The spa was closed during my entire stay, and there were no pools or entertainment spaces. Overall, 8.5/10

Great location for exhibition traders, also near to Metro line 2 . First day and last day of exhibition was noisy because My room was near to exhibition exit for truck loading and handling.
