Breakfast Waiter had black filthy fingernails, and overbearing intimidating personality. Green security light in bedroom kept us awake most of night. Breakfast poached eggs were COLD and drenched in vinegar. We went FOR the seafood restaurant, but it wasn’t open at all in our stay. Website shows baths, but we only given a shower room.

Sorry that you did not enjoy your time with us. Our classic rooms do not have views of the water or a bath, we feel this is clearly advertised, if there is a mistake with advertising anywhere, it would help us if you could send a copy of this to us so that we can correct it. Samphire is open Thursday - Sunday as advertised. I will pass on your feedback regarding breakfast and server to the manager. Your feedback is appreciated.

Loved our 2 day stay, Staff were lovely, food was great. Had an evening meal and breakfast, both were delicious. The view from the resturant was fantastic. Loved staying here and will definitely stay again.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Very friendly staff. Great dining options and food choices for gluten free and dairy free were plentiful and tasty. Excellent size room. We did not make use of it but a well stocked fridge in the room with spirits, cold drinks chocolate and snacks. Coffee and teamaking facilities. Beautiful views of the Forth Bridge from the dining room. Free parking close by. Cannot fault. Would happily book again and recommend to others.

A bit so so
Stay was perfectly pleasant, staff were friendly and helpful. Few niggly annoyances, though. Coffee cups in the room weren't cleaned after being used in the room - not a big deal but, for the price we paid, I would have expected this. Whilst wifi is available, it doesn't work in the bedroom - signal isn't strong enough. Lack of hanging hooks in the bathroom meant difficult to dry towels and the shower cabinet leaked. We put drinks and food on the bill but, at check out, a 10% service charge was added to every item on the bill - a pint of Belhaven Best that I ordered jumped from £4.95 to £5.45 - by all means add a service charge to dinner but not to every round of drinks and breakfast. Breakfast was 2 coffees, a 'wee breakfast' - 1 egg, 1 rasher of bacon, 1 sausage and mushroom, a bowl of granola, slice of toast and 2 orange juices - wow, £27.50 then add the service charge so over £30!

I stayed a night as a solo tourist. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean, comfortable, warm and cozy the room was. I absolutely loved it and had a great nights sleep. 4 plump pillows, clean sheets and a very clean and modern bathroom. Loved being near the sea and walking the pier. The restaurant breakfast was also delicious. Cannot fault. Worth every penny.

Loved the view, staff were attentive. Room clean and efficient. Only note was not knowing bout the lack of taxis in the area. Maybe make guests aware as they check in. The walk to the station is not for the faint hearted.

Our team do try their best to arrange taxi where possible but if not pre-booked it can sometimes be challenging at peak times. Loved our stay at Orocco Pier. Our room had a balcony overlooking the sea and we could see the three bridges. We could hear the waves crashing during the night when the tide came in. The room was small but the balcony was wonderful!

Too hot to sleep
The room was just too hot. The window couldn’t open. I couldn’t sleep at all because of how hot the room was. The AC did not work.

Hi Amanda,I am so sorry to hear that you had a unsettled evening. I do hope you were able to make our staff aware that you were too hot as we hold additional fans at reception. I have also passed on your comments to maintenance regarding the air con as we were unware that it was not working. With regards to the windows, we are required by our insurance company to keep these on the safety locks for health and safety reasons.Hopefully we can welcome you back again soon.

This property is awesome for history buffs, quaint low key area with easy connections into Edinburgh. The room we had was small with no view, no safe and no mini bar, unlike the advertising site.

The location is superb -- in an attractive area of town, right on the water, with views of the local bridges. And the staff were amazing -- they accommodated our baggage before check-in, they advised us on the best way to get into Edinburgh, they booked us a cab to the airport for a very early morning, and they were incredibly friendly, helpful and responsive when we had a minor plumbing problem somewhat late in the evening. The rooms are tight on space, but they are completely worth it!

Awesome staff! Great food! Incredible view of the Forth Bridges! The room was a bit small for a single person travelling with a suitcase and backpack, but ultimately worked well for a brief stay. Would definitely consider visiting again.

Stayed for a couple of nights in Rm10. The room was horrendously hot and stuffy. The windows were fully open, curtains had to be left open to gain air ( this was not the best, as the hotel rm in front of us could see into our rm at all times ) Was given a fan by the receptionist but this still did not help. The bathrm door had to be kept closed to stop the heat escaping from there ( there was no window in the bathroom ). For both nights, it was so stuffy and hot, we simply could not sleep. Usually my asthma is mild, but during our stay in this hotel, I simply could barely breathe in the room, never mind get a sleep for a few hrs max. More often enough, we couldnt wait to get out of the room to breathe. We were so looking forward to staying in this hotel, but after that experience, we re-think again in future, for the sake of our own health. Avoid staying in room 10 if you can.

The rooms are updated and quiet. Breakfast isn’t included if you book through a third party. The staff didn’t say that upon checking in. Walk the beach behind the hotel for sea glass. The restaurant has good dinner options and outside seating.
