Absolutely beautiful
What an amazing weekend away with my partner. This was a valentines gift from my wonderful fiancé and was just what we needed. Would definitely have stayed longer if it wasn’t for the joys of having to go back to work . We stayed for 2 nights and was just what we needed. The cottage was just beautiful and the scenery was breath taking. I absolutely love the sea and having it on the doorstep and waking up to the waves was jus at amazing. I actually have no words to be honest. We used one of the booklets that was on hand in the cottage to go and visit a few places ( we will remember next time to bring wellies lol) a lot of Scottish history and breathtaking scenery. There was a few things we didn’t manage to fit in but we will defo be back to visit other places. Our host Kate was always on hand if we needed to ask anything and has made sure the wee house has everything you can ask for. Thank you for an amazing stay Kate..: only downfall was having to come home back to reality

Amazing and Beautiful hidden gem!
Everything about the town and cottage is so special and amazing. The cottage was so warm and homely with everything you could need. Kate made sure we were looked after and all ok. Even though the weather kept us in town, the local people were so friendly and welcoming. We absolutely loved our time and will be back again.

A beautiful stay
Truly one of the best places we've ever stayed. The cottage is extremely cozy and Kate thought of everything to make it so you don't want or have to leave. Pennan is the place to stay if you're looking for peace and quiet. Simply a wonderful experience all around.

Christmas Break
We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas Break at No' 33. The most amazing view of the tumbulant seas from the property The peace and quiet is just what we wanted. Everything we needed was provided for including a few Christmas pieces. We are sure the sounds and smells of the sea will draw us back again soon

Gemütliches Haus am Meer
Wir hatten eine wirklich schöne Zeit und haben die Tage sehr genossen und uns wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet und man hat einen traumhaften Ausblick aufs Meer, sogar aus dem Bett! Wirklich ein Ort zum Abschalten, da es sehr ruhig ist und man keine Straße oder sonstigen Lärm hört. Das einzige was uns nicht so gut gefallen hat, war dass das Sofa sehr nach Hund gerochen hat. Entweder müsste es mal gereinigt oder ausgetauscht werden. Trotzdem würden wir die Unterkunft weiterempfehlen und auch noch mal buchen.

The Wee House in Pennan
The property is small but perfect for a couple. Having the room at the top of the house is a bonus although the stairs are not suitable for the elderly I would say. It is well equipped with lovely welcome touches (flowers, biscuits, milk as well as many some basics like salt,pepper, teabags, bin bags, washing powder, dishwasher tablets...so much more than a lot of places we have stayed. Only thing we would have asked for was a few more pegs to hang out washing and a couple more pots as we are keen cooks. All in all a truly lovely property.

Perfect break.
Drive up from Surrey looking for a break in a quiet and peaceful location - this was the perfect respite and everything we expected and more. Location is ideal, the constant sound of the ocean at our door step, not at all crowded, great and comfortable set up. Bed is very comfortable and the unit has all the needed amenities. There are only two business in town - a tea shack and a hotel. The limited businesses means very little foot traffic which keeps Pennan quiet and peaceful.

Short break
Fabulous little place with everything you could want for a short holiday - Kate is lovely and very friendly. Fabulous little ‘Cuppy’ down by the Harbour with a fabulous lady who serves cake and coffee etc. together with a wealth of knowledge on the area. Altogether one of the friendliest little spots I have ever spent time in. We will be going back - next time for longer :-) . Fab fab fab :-).

What a lovely cottage. Everything spotless and very comfortable We received a message from Kate a few days before re access, and there are numerous contact numbers if you need to contact her, which of course we didn't need. There is a lovely sandy beaches at Sandend

Kate's property was everything described and more. From every aspect, you get great views of the beach. I couldn't walk passed a window without looking out and admiring the view. Property is well stocked with everything you need and incredibly clean. Pennan is stunning. We spent a healthy amount of time in the Pennan B&B/pub. The hosts are lovely and we met people who had travelled from the US to visit this beautiful place. Great location allowed us to visit Inverness (Loch Ness), a number of whisky distilleries in Moray, Aberdeen and Banff (personal favourite)

Idyllic north coastal escape
Kate was great from the moment we started communicating, to our warm evening arrival to ready-made glowing log burner & locally made sweet treats in her cosy, quirky cottage. Her carpenter is very talented. Lovely attention to detail. It’s a total, quiet escape, with all you’ll need and other thoughtful items such as Scottish local DVDs like Local Hero & then following the theme you can relax reading , looking out to sea, in her attic room or use the telescope to view the moons surface in detail, stars & planets, and maybe, and if you can keep awake long enough with both cosy fires lit, see the Northern Lights. They happened unscheduled and briefly, but sadly we were already asleep. We did some steep walks out from the village, up onto the coastal paths to Cullykhan & Fiddes with superb rugged views and deserted beaches with caves & rock pools. Easy driving access to Fraserburgh - you must try Mrs Whytes quirky, gypsy, frilly tea room, especially if it’s raining, MacDuff and Cullen to sample Cullen Skink (fish & potato soup) in the Royal Oak by the Seafield Estate Viaduct. Super long weekend in Pennan.

Perfect peace and cosy cottage
We absolutely loved staying here, I don't think we could find anywhere closer to the sea. The cottage is beautiful and had everything we could need and more. The village very is quiet with only the noise of sea birds and waves. We enjoyed exploring other towns and villages up and down the coastline. We were lucky enough to see gray seals a couple of times. It was the perfect break and we will have lots of happy memories.

Beautiful setting and comfortable, well furnished cottage. Lovely to listen to the waves on the the shore from bed. So many birds and the occasional seal. Restful and relaxing.

Gorgeous Retreat by the Sea
We actually could hardly bear to leave! The cottage is just beautiful. It has been lovingly restored with just the nicest touches. It is so cosy with a lovely little fire, compact kitchen with everything you need, delicious box bath that is like a mini hot tub, fabulous view and you go to sleep and wake to the sound of the waves on the pebbles. Perfect!

Outstanding Fisherman’s Cottage with fantastic sea views
The Wee House, as it is called, is such a lovely place to stay: thanks to great attention to detail by Kate, it has a really cosy interior. Furthermore, it is well equipped, has fantastic views of the sea, the little harbour and the cliffs around. At low tide, you can even enjoy a swim in the bay in front of the cottage :-) To get lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves was such an amazing treat. Kate has definitely been a premier host: she gave us tips where to enjoy great walks starting from Pennan, and even left a punnet with strawberries from a local farmer to welcome us.

We were lucky to be able to book the only 4 days available in the course of this summer. The booking process was quick and easy. The cottage matched the description. It was comfortable,well equipped and beautifully presented with many imaginative touches which made it visually pleasing.

Lovely cottage in a lovely little village
A beautiful, cosy, comfortable and well equipped cottage in a picturesque village. Great attention to detail by the owner and use of appropriate materials in a sensitive restoration of a former fisherman's cottage. Had a great three nights here and wish it could have been longer. Also wish it had been cold enough to use the log burners 😃 It was lovely to be able to sit outside in the morning with a cup of coffee watching the sea and the flights of the house martins. Excellent communications with the owner too. All in all a perfect experience and I hope to have a return visit sometime in the future.

This stunning wee cottage is in such a perfect idealistic location. We woke up to beautiful sea views and amazing sunsets at the end of the day. Kate has thought of everything for an enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend.

Remote seaside cottage
The cottage interior design is nice and so is the wood burner. I dont have one so loved using it. The cottage has everything you need; kitchen, bathroom, living room with tv and bed. We loved the biscuits and cakes which were left for us. This get a away is ideal for anyone seeking to escape the city and return to nature. The sound of the waves is nice to fall asleep and wake up to. The sea gulls arent too loud either. The local neighbours and predominately scottish who were surprisingly not very welcoming. Other houses along the remote strip are also let out. I think the place gets alot of european visitors from Germany mainly. Overall not a bad experience.
