「Parking was a nightmare. Checking in at the bar was awful, the bar staff were rude, didn't even look up from him screen. The room was small, and severely dated, with a toilet that faced the bath tub, and as a 6ft tall person, it was not a comfortable experience. The bath tub was so old that the white has come off, and it was a disgusting yellow with deep scratches on the bottom. The breakfast was terrible, the hot food was cold, undercooked, and the eggs sat there so long they had almost a...

「The indoor spa was great. Staff were awesome as well - really professional. Can imagine it's great when the outdoor spa is open and during the summer. Some of the negatives...breakfast could do with some improvements, the ingredients tasted low quality some of the cooking was questionable (fried eggs for example). The place had a general feel of getting refurbished so felt hard done by paying full price... Our room (28) smelt like drains and the view was blocked by scaffolding. Also some mold...

「The lady owner was friendly and lovely from the moment I arrived. I was made to feel very welcome and was even treated to a plate of home made biscuits. The bed was comfy and I had an amazing night's sleep. Breakfast was served at a time that was convenient to me and everything was very fresh. The bread and jam were also home made. The property is in a very quiet location and in lovely gardens and provides a great place to stay during a visit to the lake district. 」

My husband got the full English and I got scrambled eggs and bacon. The scrambled eggs seemed to be the rehydrated kind, but otherwise the meal was good. We would stay here again. 」
