The house was beautiful with perfect location on the beach and close to town and several great restaurants. The beach was very quiet and it felt like a private beach. Stunning views. The house fit us all comfortably and the outdoor space was amazing with some shade, some sun and lots of places to hang out. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a great week!

It’s a remote area and easy to relax and enjoy the beach. Nice restaurants and very nice people. Plan activities ahead of time.

Very nice house, beach, pool, views. The only thing I’d add is bring your own music as there’s no way to have it outside on the deck or pool area. The house has a lot of things ( individual AC units, lots of fans ) that aren’t easy to figure out, it would be nice if the housekeeper went through it with us to save time and frustration. Owner and manager are very nice.

The house was clean, comfortable, and spacious enough for our family of 12. It is in the perfect location over looking the ocean with a soft pale pink sand beach just down the steps. We were near to many restaurants in Governor's Harbor, but the house also had everything we needed to make our own meals. What really put our stay over the top was the wonderful care taker of the house Sherri. She not only made us a fantastic seafood dinner, but she was prompt with helping us with recommendations for the island. She even helped me learn more about my family from the island. This made our stay exceptional. I highly recommend staying here, and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The beach is down a bit of a hill and stairs which may challenge some but the pool is great too. Sherry coordinated transportation and cooked us a wonderful meal one night. Denise was also responsive. Tippy’s just down the road is a good option for meals.Our group of 8 really enjoyed riding side-by-sides to see the lighthouse; good, fun time.

We knew this would be a nice place, but we were in awe of how truly incredible it was. What a treat to stay at such a beautiful home, on the most exquisite beach. The sand, water, and views were perfection. The home was well equipped and beautifully furnished. We stayed further north during our first week, but much preferred this location. The only thing that took away from our enjoyment were the bugs & bites on this island - if we can find a remedy for that we will be back as often as possible. Sandy Hill is a perfect house for large families and groups. The house is wonderfully designed with separate pods of bedrooms and bathrooms, in addition to a large master bedroom en suite upstairs. And every bedroom has a spectacular view of the ocean, which makes every sunrise worth waking up to experience. The salt water infinity pool is incredible and the private beach is only steps away from the house, so kayaking and snorkeling can be done directly off the beach depending on the wind and waves each day. The small town of Governor’s Harbor is only a short car drive away, but critical for dining and grocery options. The Leon Levy Preserve is well worth the price of admission, just be sure to have appropriate shoes for the hike. Many of the island’s major attractions are a long car drive from Sandy Hill’s central island location. It’s well worth the trip to visit the Sapphire Blue Hole, the Glass Window, and the Queen’s bath. Overall, Sandy Hill exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend it for travelers looking for a relaxing vacation with a heavenly view!

The ocean water was clear, warm and the most amazing color of turquoise blue! The sandy beach was the best on the island! The infinity pool was perfect. The house was beautifully designed and all rooms had great ocean views. Both Matt, and the owner, Denise, provided great tips, information, and time answering questions. It was such a great help. We had a fantastic family vacation and would highly recommend Eleuthera Vacation Rentals, and if you can stay at Sandy Hill Beach house you will not be disappointed--it was paradise!

The pool and view are just like you see in the pictures. The deck furniture and living area furniture were so comfortable. We were happy with how upscale the kitchen and utensils were and loved everything about the beach, location and home. The way the bedrooms are laid out is perfect for having some private space. Go to the La Boganvillia for lunch or dinner at the beach bar, it's very nice.There are three things you should know going in. Pay extra for an extra bag and bring coffee, spices, peanut butter, and anything you'd like to have. Food there is very limited there, meat is hard to come by. I brought a few things but paying an extra $50 for an additional bag would have been worth it and we would have had a bigger choice of food. Watch the pot holes! we bent a rim and that was a costly mistake....and lock the doors even when your home. We had 10 people there, the TV was on and while most were asleep there was one of us in the pool at about 4 in the morning and someone came in and lifted a BUNCH of money from the living area. I think you're totally safe there, I believe them to be petty thieves but the police said it happens on the island and you just need to lock up at night. There is a safe there, so use it....other than that, the island is wonderful, the house is fabulous and the wedding/family reunion was really a special time that we will remember for the rest of our lives....

This home is truly as lovely as others have said. Since they've already said that, I'll fill in some details about questions we had prior to leaving home. We had 14 in our family, six school-age kids, eight adults. We followed Matt's suggestion that we ask The Market Place grocery store (like an old-time IGA and 45 minutes away) to pre-stock a few days of food for us. The online process is very simple. The store concierge will call you with any questions she has about your order. In the comment section, you can request things you don't see on the website. They might have them. Pre-stocking the food was a huge help! We arrived hungry late in the day. Kids didn't want to travel one more minute. They needed to play/swim, not sit in restaurant chairs. The house has a filled spice rack and has soap/tissue in all the bathrooms. Bring your own shampoo/conditioner. You may --may!-- also find some other helpful "left-behinds" like baggies, foil, cooking oil, sugar, laundry soap, and sunscreen/bug spray. We used up many of the odd ends of bug spray, then left one of our own. For folks with food allergies/sensitivities: Market Place and Burrows (the tiny local grocery store) both carry gluten-free pasta. Neither has GF waffles or baked products. Neither had any nut butters besides peanut. Both had non-dairy "milks" (almond/soy). The welcome materials say it's safe to drink the water if you're staying in a house on the municipal water line, but doesn't say if Sandy Hills is on the line. The blue pipes in the front yard indicate that it is on the municipal water line and the owner confirmed it for us. So we stopped cooking with bottled water and used the ice the freezer makes. There are classic games (like bingo), cards, and a puzzle or two in the ottoman. There are a few life jackets and some snorkel gear in the bin on the deck. More can be rented/purchased in town. Bring your water shoes. The local prices for those are very high. Overall-Wonderful!

Reviewer Comments: Location & View was amazing, we unfortunately were unable to enjoy the amenities as advertised on VRBO. We did contact immediately upon arrival, the owner Denise Wilkes of following issues that were not repaired during our stay:1. Pool Heater *We informed Denise that our grandkids(4 yrs old & 22 months couldn’t enjoy the pool w/o heated & ocean was too rough for them to swim). We were promised it would be repaired on MON 12/30, didn’t happen, & we had to follow up daily for status. We were also never given the name/contact info or confirmed time someone would come as per rental agreement. When Howard showed up on FRI 1/3, it was a complete surprise to us*The pool heater was not repaired till FRI 1/3 late afternoon & it only took Howard 5 minutes to flip a switch. Pool would not be fully heated till SAT 1/4 morning now.2. Outside Shower - both top & bottom shower not working*Only the Top portion of outside shower was repaired by Howard late FRI 1/3 afternoon. The bottom was not repaired.Other Challenges encountered:1. Water Pressure very low downstairs and no hot water in kitchen sink.*When Howard came on 1/4 - he informed us correct water pumps in house were not set up correctly and fixed.2. Upstairs water flow in sink/shower/ toilet were rusty for 1st few days.3. Kitchen Can opener and bottle opener not functional since worn out.4. Screens were not on any windows in house & were all laying outside garage door. *We couldn’t have the windows open after 5PM or 10AM due to bugs.5. Grounds were not tended till 8:00AM on SAT 1/4 when several unannounced men arrived & began cutting lawn/bushes, raking sand, cleaning pool.*We were unable to use outdoors at all SAT 1/4 before CKOUT & had to leave early.Other items that were not as advertised on VRBO:1. Brand New House - while this house may be newer, it definitely was showing wear/tear with cracked floor tiles

Room for everyone. Everything you need to cook at home, no detail spared. We went out on several day trips to Rainbow Bay, Sapphire Hole and half day excursion. However, the view and outside space at the house is all you need!! Sherry was very responsive and cooked us a fabulous dinner! Matthew from Eleuthera Vacation Rentals was great to work with as well as Denise who both checked in during our stay. Cant' wait to return.

Both the inside and the outside were spotless. The pictures show the house but don’t capture the true beauty. The views from every room were spectacular but the views from the deck and pool are indescribable. I have never seen so many shades of blue/green in my life. The beach was beautiful and we had it mostly to ourselves. There were 4 nice (Tommy Bahama) beach chairs and 2 very nice beach umbrellas. Also, there were misc snorkels, masks and fins. The walk to Tippy’s was easy, but the food and drinks were only OK, nothing special but the view. The Buccaneer Club was very good. We also used Cocojo to provide drinks, they were wonderful, and I highly recommend them. Matt was great to work with and quick to respond. All in all, it was a great house and we would gladly return.

Lots of light everywhere and lots of space. Manager greeted us and made us feel very welcome. Loved all the sitting areas about the property where little groups could hang out and visit. Kitchen has absolutely everything you need to cook meals. Favorite restaurant was La Bougainvillea about 5 minutes down the road. Took a fishing trip one day and caught barracuda and grouper! Grilled at the house and it was delicious! Beach is lovely and the sand is like powdered sugar. Easy walking going either way. Pool was delightful and we spent hours in it just enjoying the sun and the views. Saw dolphins one morning; a real treat! If you think you'd like to stay here book early; the calendar seems to fill up quickly. You will not be disappointed in a stay at Sandy Hill!
