The cottage was perfect. You can launch a kayak or canoe steps from the back door. The house was clean and communication was great. We’ll be back to enjoy some more fishing on the Muskegon.

Your location could not be better! A beautiful view of an amazing sparkling river from a well appointed cottage with a luxury feel. From kitchen to bathrooms and bedrooms, everything was perfect.

The R and R we needed

This was our 2nd time staying here. My kids love the house. We love the quietness, nature, fishing and all the other wild life we see. Perfect spot for a family :)

Very comfortable and peaceful

The cottage was very well loved and cared for. Lots of keepsakes and fun decor to discover. Super clean, even all those windows and glass doors. Thoughtful touches throughout. Try the wooden fish puzzle!

Retreat week

A friend and I stayed for a week as a sort of art retreat and loved the beautiful setting and quiet location. The property was clean and the one issue we had was cleared up immediately by the manager. The manager was quick to respond and easy to work with. Highly recommend this location if you are looking for a quiet place to spend some time.

Wonderful Stay

The house was absolutely perfect! Had everything we needed! Plenty of space for all. We fished and tubes in the river. The location was amazing. We saw so much wildlife, deer, hummingbirds, blue herons, hawks and a bald Eagle which was unbelievable! We will definitely be going back!

So glad we went back

It is so beautiful, and relaxing. The bunk beds were a nice touch. The family was able to float down the river. I am so glad we went back. Perfect end to the summer. We plan to come back.

Wonderful location and amenities

Although this property was a tad further out than we had expected it was worth it! So quiet and beautiful! An older but well kept house with everything we needed including all sorts of items for little ones! Extra beds, bed rails, crib, highchair, etc - it was perfect! We saw all sorts of birds and animals including deer and turkeys! We loved it!

August 2022 trip

We had a great stay. Great weather, relaxing and quiet. We also appreciated having the Chinok rental close. The cottage was well stocked in case we forgot anything. The only suggestion I would have is putting shade outside on the end of the porch. ( just to the left of the front door) It would provide a little more privacy for both the renters as well as the neighbors.

Wonderful, relaxing place to stay and just get away!

Place looked just like the pictures! The most relaxing stay we've had in a very long time. Heather communicates well, and the property is well maintained. It was just great to wake up and drink a cup of coffee on a relaxing river. My teenage boys loved staying here, just as much as my husband and I. We were made aware, prior to arrival, of a cousin that staus in the home next door (who was extremely kind) and her mother that was staying in the studio to the left of the cottage, but we never saw her. Just all-around pleasant people that we encountered every so often. Veryuch a great getaway!

Secluded and quiet surrounded by nature!

Let me start by saying that Heather, the property owner, is fantastic. She let us know that we could arrive earlier than check-in, which we greatly appreciated. The cottage is very much off the beaten path disconnected from everything but nature. I hadn't realized how much I needed to disconnect from technology until my stay here. I will admit though that without being able to text or call started to drive me crazy by week's end. We had literally no bars on our cell phones but could at least still receive emails. This was no fault of Heather. The cottage is dated and needs some decorating love, in my opinion, but it was very clean which is so important. And, the washer and dryer were fantastic as was the bed in the master. We loved taking the river floating excursion one day and loved bird watching from the back deck as well. My only complaint would have to be the little apartment in the garage directly behind the cottage. It was empty when we arrived (as was the house directly next door) but we did get word that relatives would be arriving early afternoon Wednesday. The apartment is in such close proximity to the cottage that you didn't have a whole lot of privacy as that person had to walk right by the living room windows to get to the apartment. Had I known this prior to our booking, I likely would not have gone through with renting the cottage. I know we may not be like typical travelers but we really love privacy while on vacay. Also, we love the water. The view was great to watch the people float by daily but the river current flows too quickly to be able to swim. We were able to sit in Adirondack chairs with feet in the water but really wished we could have swam. Just something to keep in mind. Thank you, Heather for the hospitality and for sharing your piece of nature with us.

Birthday Weekend

We loved the cottage! My best friend and I got away for my weekend and enjoyed reconnecting with nature and being near the river. The home was wonderful! Heather kept great communication with us and made the stay even better! Thanks Heather!

Loved it!

We had an incredible stay. We were pleasantly surprised by the studio space that was also available. It made our stay much more comfortable! We loved being right on the river. We were able to fish & swim right from the back yard. Kayak & tube rentals were right down the street & we were able to enjoy a spontaneous trip tubing down the river. :)

Beautiful River Getaway!

We enjoyed this property so much! We have 4 boys, ( twins-3, 6, and 8) and they had so much fun just casting their lines down by the river. We didn't catch anything, but they didn't care. The river is shallow there right now so it is easy for the big kids to swim, but it is a bit fast flowing for little kids. The house sits up high, so we were careful to let the littles outside without supervision, but there's plenty of front yard space to play and you're also at the dead end so they can ride their bikes on the long driveway and out there. Such a quiet location with friendly neighbors! Cooked steaks over the fire and they were amazing! Kitchen has just about every utensil/pan you could need along with supplies for toddlers. Only 45 minutes or so from so many fun things too! Oh, and we found out that the bridge down the road, you can float down the river from there to the house and it's only about 45 minutes. Heather is so nice and always quick to answer questions. Obviously we highly recommend and will be back!

Perfectly quiet and peaceful

Wonderful stay! Such a nice property right on the Muskegon River, so peaceful and quiet. Heather is a great hostess, providing for pretty much any needed supplies you may have forgotten, and super fast and responsive to any questions/comments. We got to stay during the week of the baby food festival in nearby Fremont, and she gave us a schedule for that also, so we got to enjoy that a well. Groceries, gas, food, everything was less than 15 minutes away, while still enjoying the relaxing solitude of the cottage. We enjoyed being able to use the cottage as our base to explore the area, 30 minutes to Michigan's Adventure, and one hour to Silver Lake. Great place, great stay, highly recommend!
