Area was a bit on the rough side and the pub part of the business appeared to be long closed. But safe parking was a bonus and staff were very helpful and friendly
Clean, comfortable and within walking distance of the train station and ferry port. Great to have a dog-friendly place to stay after a long journey.
Thank you!
The room looked recently refurbed and had a huge TV with access to a lot of TV channels.
Convenient for the station & port and was quiet so easy to get to sleep. The bed was not the most comfortable but acceptable. Certainly no issue for my one night stay.
Very much enjoyed staying in the room I was allocated. Very comfortable and clean with easily the best TV I have experienced in this type of hotel! The only downside was the lack of any breakfast offering whatsoever so I cannot give an overall rating of ‘excellent’.
Excellent hotel if you have to catch the ferry in the morning. The lady who welcomed us is very friendly. She let us have our take-away meal at the table downstairs and even supplied us with cutlery and glasses.
The lady at the reception was very helpful. There is a small secure car park. There is a small shop across the road. The usual fast food KFC, Burgerking, macdonalds are about a 5 minute walk. The Stena port is a 4 minute drive.
The staff was very kind. Check in was easy. Room was small but very clean and suited out purposes very well. Patio on back made a nice place for our picnic dinner. Close to ferry so very convenient.
Great value for money. Superb welcome by friendly Moldovian gentleman who offered us a fan and brought us bottles of water as the evening was warm. Great service.
Amazing place, when I arrived at the reception it was old fashioned but when the Lady took me around to the rooms I was really in the 20th century. The security locks used were impressive. I felt safe already. The room was so clean, neat, refreshing I can just go on. I use hotels around the country this was my favourite.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The ground floor room was fine, with easy access to the parking area. The shower room was very clean and modern; the bedding was immaculate on a comfortable bed; it was a shame the carpet hadn't been vacuumed. We would have liked a small fridge and a second opening window as the weather was exceedingly hot, but we appreciated the air conditioning. We couldn't see the point of the massive television, that was too close to watch anyway.
The parking area was roomy and secure.
There was a Costa and a Starbucks within easy walking distance, along with a supermarket and a row of shops. Although this hotel would be handy for the ferryport, it was too far from Harwich town centre to walk, so we could not visit the pubs and restaurants without driving (although we should have checked this before booking).

No window in the room, reminded me of a cellar, but it was clean. The reception area was ghastly, it looked like it had been empty for years. Friendly receptionist though.
