Very pleasant hotel well situated for all the borders has to offer .
Not a big hotel but has everything you would want . Our en-suite room was very clean and comfortable and was a reasonable size . We had a smashing cooked breakfast which had excellent variety .
The owner and staff were all all very friendly and looked after us very well .
I'd certainly recommend this hotel .
We arrived very late in the evening about 9:30pm and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or more helpful. They recommended a local takeaway that delivered and allowed us to eat our food in the bar and have a drink. Our room was huge and very comfortable. We’ll definitely be back.

Easy walking distance to Hawick, beautiful grounds, quiet, comfortable room and delicious breakfast.
House and location are excellent. The property has been thoughtfully restored and the decor matches its fine Victorian grandeur perfectly. Catering is limited and of poor quality. Fixtures and fittings are low grade and poorly maintained. It is inexpensive.
The hotel was a lovely old house restored to a high standard. Our room was very clean, spacious and functional, with a modern bathroom. Breakfast was very good. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back here.
The staff were lovely the room was so comfortable. At breakfast the chef offered to make you anything you wanted and was super friendly. Would definitely recommend. I have stayed here twice now
We stay one night. The house is located in a quiet place just a short distance from down town. Bedroom and bath clean and comfortable. Breakfast okay. Good place to stay
Great welcome from lovely staff... beautiful building, only criticism was the bathroom. It was large and spotlessly clean but it had a handbasin the size of a pudding bowl? and the shower was rubbish. It was a challenge to use, and the pressure was extremely poor.
Thanks to Sure & Dave for being wonderful hosts. We enjoyed as a family and will definitely be coming back soon.
We enjoyed the lovely walk, great hot breakfast (Thanks to the chef) with excellent coffee too.
My boys loved their stay at Hawick :)
Special mention about Hospitality staff named ‘Fern’ for her lovely service.
Many thanks again.
Keep up the good work team xx
My partner and I loved our stay here. Everyone was friendly and generous, the room was lovely, the grounds were beautiful, and everything felt so Scottish.
On arrival at hotel we were greeted with “name!” No hello , welcome. The man was not made for customer service. Told our room number but not how to get to it. Whole hotel smelled of dog. We have stayed in hotels before that are dog friendly but never had that overwhelming smell.
Room was ok. Nothing soecial.
We stayed here the night before I had a race, the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We arrived later due to traffic and a road closure, so missed ordering food, however we were recommended some restaurants that were dog friendly and local takeaways that we order to the room. We had one of our dogs staying with us, we were advised there was a little paddock at the front of the gardens that's was secure for him to play in. My partner returned to the hotel after dropping me in the morning and had a lovely breakfast with our dog.
The room was immaculate and smelled amazing, however they cleaned it was the best smelling room Ive staying in. As for the reviews saying "the place smelled of dog" absolutel nonsense. I've stayed in non pet friendly hotels which were no where near as lovely and fresh as this one. Only negative is I wished we'd stayed longer and will definitely be back.
