“Relaxing and quiet stay. I uaually dont eat breakfast at hotels but I woke up and had breakfast every morning. It was that good! The staff were very friendly and welcoming too. No complaints other than the large stain in the bathtub which I knew probably cant be removed with regular cleaner. May be time for an update in certain areas but a good quality stay for the price.”

“We got there just as everything was opening. The lodge is clean , comfortable and helpful in showing us where the outside camp kitchen was in order to grill steaks. Sleeping was a little challenging as a bus full of teenagers pulled up and basically ran up and down the halls and stairs all night. Kids will be kids. I was just wondering where are the adults. It was kinda rude and inconsiderate”

“We visited the first week in May 2026. The first room they gave us, on the ground floor, had a window with a broken lock. The room also had poor lighting. They moved us to another room on the ground floor. The window locked but the door wouldn’t latch or lock reliably. The third room was fine. One of the staff said they just “took back the hotel” and were getting to know it. It definitely needs maintenance. The hot tub was in a separate building. We didn’t use it. The breakfast was limited to……

“Good place to stay to see Mount Rushmore”

“I checked out the three hot tubs while I was there. Two of the tubs had obviously not been maintained for a while. The water was cloudy and gave off a very unpleasant odor. The third tub was mostly empty of water. No soaking for me. The TV was somehow fixed at a certain volume, which I wanted to lower but could not. The mute button was also deactivated. Very frustrating!”

“Amazing 2 story older property in excellent condition with huge rooms, quality furniture and decent view. Close to most everything by car and a few walkable restaurants. Simple breakfast of oats, cereal and egg biscuit sandwiches. Downside is no elevator and terrible check in with unavailable staff followed by incompetence. Wonderful affordable place to stay!!”

“This is a great older property on the highway as you come into Lead from Deadwood. I used to live in town so .camilair with the property and it's history. They have cabins and rooms. We stayed in a room. It was roomy even with a King size bed, plus had a loveseat, tall dinette, dresser, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Pet friendly property. They are in the process of remodeling the rooms/cabins and other buildings (4/2026), and are adding a fenced-in dog area. There is also a covered……
