Great location, tons of space

Great location with tons of space for multiple people without feeling crowded. Building staff very friendly and helpful. Perfect location just a few streets from the beach and across the street from some of the best poke in town at Maguro Spot and very convenient surf rentals right between the condo and the beach at Moku.

Great Waikiki condo

We enjoyed staying at this condo. Great location and large enough for my young to teenager aged group of kids. We fit perfectly, great communication between us, owner and property manager! We loved the parking we had in the complex and also the pool was perfect when you’ve had too many days at the beach, it was nice and the kids loved it to relax at the pool. Great walking distance to the beach too just two blocks away and not far from international market place where there was food and shops. Overall we loved❤️staying here, two 👍👍 up!

Would definitely recommend !!

Our mixed family group of Aussies and Kiwis stayed here and everyone was very happy with the accomodation. Everything was provided including some very useful beach gear. The views are great and we loved sitting out in our lanai watching the surfers. It's also very handy to the beach, the bus, the shops, and restaurants. Hopefully we will come back to Hawaii and this is definitely where we will be staying. Thanks Gary.

Good location and size, but needs some upgrading

This condo was a good size with enough rooms for my family of adult children (me plus 3). That and the location were the best things about this condo. None of us are beach goers so we didn't use all of the beach gear but the condo seemed well equipped in that regard. I don't know Hawaii real estate but we found this condo a bit depressing compared to all of the VRBO houses and condos that we've rented in other locations. Highlights were the view from the lanai, easy walking distance to restaurants/shops/beach and the new kitchen counter and appliances. Things I would fix if it were my place: more effective air conditioning (or at least more than 1 little fan), better lighting in shower/bath area, shower door that completely closed, more than 1 bar of soap for a condo with 3 sinks, better pots and pans (the one I used had a broken handle), new curtains. With relatively little money spent this place could be nicer. I have no Hawaii frame of reference so readers keep that in mind.

Perfect Hawaiian Holiday Home

I travelled to Hawaii from Australia with my parents, auntie and uncle who are in their 60s and 70s and we needed a place to stay big enough for 5 adults and close walking distance to all the main attractions. We couldn't have asked for a better place - the apartment was a great size, secure, very clean and fully equipped from kitchen utilities to beach towels. It had everything we needed. And with Food Pantry just a minute or so walk away, we were able to buy food and cook in the apartment rather than eating every meal out. It was just a short 2 minute stroll to Waikiki Beach and there is plenty of transport including the trolley to Ala Moana Shopping Centre right outside the doorstep. We enjoyed everything about this apartment including it's convenient location, sharing food around the large dining table and sitting out on the main balcony of an evening enjoying the ocean views and warm Hawaiian breeze. This was my 3rd visit to Oahu and my first time staying at Gary's holiday apartment. I have no doubt I'll be back and I'll definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it to others. The communication from Merry when booking the apartment was fast and easy. Mahalo to Gary and Merry for making our stay enjoyable and hassle-free!!

Great Apartment for a Great Price

Aloha, We are a adult family of four on our third holiday to Ohau and our second stay in one of Gary's apartments. Already planning our return next year, and we know where we will be staying. Great apartments in the best location. Set back from the road so minimal road noise. Within 5 minutes walk to beaches, shops and restaurants. Great parking available for our rental car. Great views, location and apartment!!!

We were a group of 5 and we found the apartment met all our needs and we were more than happy with everything and will definitely be returning. We will highly recommend the apartment to our Australian friends and colleagues. The pool area was perfect for relaxing with plenty of lounges chairs (no hassling for a lounge chair like the big resorts). Also the bus stop was straight out the front - bus #8 straight to the Ala Moana Centre. It was only a 5 minute walk to the centre of Waikiki. Family of 6 with a tight budget ... VERY HAPPY!

After years of savings, this summer was the summer to make good on my 23 year promise and bring my family of 6 to Oahu to see Hawaiian history and to meet their uncle. However, I found it very difficult to locate something within our budget for housing; I needed 5 beds, near Waikiki, and access to the beach. After eliminating multiple hotel rooms due to cost and places on the far side of the island due to distance, I ran across Gary's Hawaii Vacation Rentals. In short, it was a blessing. Our room was half the cost of the hotel room, a straight 4 min walk to the beach, private parking, a secured lobby, and on top of a well-known restaurant. The condo security personnel were overwhelmingly polite and helpful. We woke up to a perfect top floor view of Waikiki beach waking up. The sun was at our backs at all times so we never had a heated patio or glares to deal with. The family took in night swims at the beach after the daily tourist left, we enjoyed the convenience of the ABC stores right on the corner, and based all our daily trips with no stress. This place was clean, light, well maintained … it was perfect for us. Merry was our point person to work with in arranging our stay and making sure our needs were met; she never missed a beat and made the process so easy and pleasurable we won’t be looking for anyone else to work with in the future. My family and I cannot say enough about the location, the price, and the people at Gary's Hawaii Vacation Rentals. Thank Merry!

Perfect Waikiki condo for a large group or family

Our group of 5 stayed 3 nights in Gary and Merry’s very nice and well equipped condo. I was a little apprehensive booking with a non corporate/hotel but my concerns were alleviated as soon as we stepped through the door. The condo, with three bedrooms is generously equipped with pleasant décor and quality furniture. The kitchen has more than enough dishware and cooking supplies and we were able to save some cash by eating breakfasts in everyday. The balconies are ocean facing and provide an amazing (though slightly obstructed) view of the ocean and beach. The bedrooms are large (for a Waikiki condo), clean and the mattresses comfortable. The bathroom was modern, clean and abundantly stocked with towels and other toiletries. We regretted not exploring the closets and other storage earlier as we found they were stocked with everything you could ever have a need for at the beach, beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, ect. The condo is conveniently located about a 5 min walk from everything you want in Waikiki. I would highly recommended staying here if your trying to spit lodging costs with a group of people or trying to put up a family. Tony

Made our vacation exceptional!

Our first family vacation with our college age children to Hawaii was made exceptional by the 3 bedroom condo we rented from Gary and Merry. Comfortable, clean, quiet and in a safe, secure building 3 blocks from the ocean; it's the view that takes your breath away! However, the best part was the seamless, consistent communication I had with both of them as we were coming from Minnesota. Via email, text and in-person there was always a sense of promptness and genuineness from both of them. In this day and age when you are paying for a place you haven't been to it does matter. I'm grateful! This particular building has tenants and vacationers; is in walking distance food, shopping and going to the beach. We also cooked and ate some of our meals here. Again, this made our stay exceptional! Thank you!

Best Experience

Love renting from Gary and Merry. The condos are clean and well cared for. They provide everything you need to enjoy your vacation. The condo is conveniently located and situated to avoid traffic. Within walking distance to shopping, dining, site seeing, and the beach of course. The condo is equipped to provide you with down time activities such as reading, movies, TV. They also provide beach tools such as chairs, snorkeling, cooler etc; who wants to spend money on things you cannot bring home? I have rented many times from Gary and Merry and recommend it to all. Great Place to Stay

The condo was perfect for our trip to Hawaii. Went with 3 of my sisters and spouses and we were all very comfortable. The rooms were as shown on the web site and it was very clean. Merry and Gary were very helpful and did not tire of our many questions. They were so helpful and it made our trip very relaxing and enjoyable. It was very much like being at home since every thing you need is provided. Besides the beach we were able to walk to many sites. I can't wait until I can go back.

Great Location. Comfortable Apartment- Don't hesitate!

What a great location. Our family of 5 - Dad, Mum and 3 Teenage boys (20, 17 & 14) all thoroughly enjoyed or stay in unit 2002. It was exactly as presented on this site. It is clean, comfortable and everything works. Merry the owner was extremely helpful. She was always contactable via email or phone and allowed us to check in a few hours early on arrival. She also had a great tip about a local taxi service to book for airport pickup. The unit is only one block from the beach. There is a Food Pantry supermarket a couple of blocks away to help fill the fridge if you want to cook and eat at home on occassion. The added bonus of beach chairs and boogie boards was much appreciated. The free high speed wi-fi was a great bonus. It kept the boys connected. Also we got to watch the last 2 episodes of "Breaking Bad" live thanks to the widescreen TV and pay TV. We can't wait to return at sometime in the future.

Fabulous Waikiki location

having been to Waikiki a few times in the past, we knew the locaiton of the Condo was ideal. What was new for us was taking a toddler! All initial fears were quickly put to rest once we arrived and checked in. the condo was as described and is in an awesome locaiton with fabulous views of the beach. the condo was decked out with all the amenities including beach toys, boogey board etc so we didn' t need to buy anythign to keep our little girl entertained. and having a self contained kitchen was the best - we could cook as little or as much as we wanted, whenever we wanted. no relying on over priced room service. so much in walking distance including the trolleys that can take you to all the great shopping and dining areas a bit further out. walking distance to the zoo - always a bonus when travelling with a toddler. loved it so much we are booked to stay again!

Awesome Experience

From the time we booked to the time we checked out, the owners could not have been more helpful. The condo is exactly as it appears in the photos and the location was perfect. We had 4 adults and 3 kids and it still felt spacious. I would highly recommend this condo and the wonderful people who own it.

Awesome vacation condo

We stayed here in July at the end of our 2-week vacation with our teenage son and daughter and had an awesome time. It was so much better than staying in a hotel. The condo was as described - clean, comfortable, and spacious with two lanais and a beautiful view of the ocean. Merry and Gary were amazing, everything worked well and we had everything we needed. Since we had a rental car it was worth having a parking space, but we easily walked to the beach, shops and restaurants without a car. We will definitely recommend this unit to our friends and family and will stay here the next time we are in Oahu!

How thrilled we were with this great family condo.

This rental was exactly what we were hoping for and more! My family of five very much enjoyed staying at this condo that had "all the comforts of home" with a tropical flavour. Very nice, quiet, clean accomodations just as discribed. Nicely furnished and decorated with all the conveniences of home in the kitchen, and the washer/dryer was very handy. Close to restaurants and shopping with a 5 minute walk to the beach and two lanais with great sea views. We especially enjoyed watching the surfers. If not renting a car there is a bus stop close by. The parking was easy and cheap. Booking was easy, Merry was fantastic to work with and very friendly. I can't believe our luck in finding this place. I will have so many fond memories of staying here. After leaving here we stayed at two very high end properties but as my 12 year old put it "They were fun but the condo was home" Can't wait to go back again. Mahalo Merry and Gary.

Check it out

We recently rented this 3 br condo for a family vacation and could not have picked a perfect place. The building is secure so you don't worry about intrusions or other wandering into the building. The condo was very comfortable and convenient to everything we wanted. Right in the middle of Waikiki, we could walk or take the bus to any locations we wanted to. The kitchen proved to be very useful as I enjoy cooking and we utilized it several times while there. Having a washer and dryer were also important which meant you didn't have to seek out the same for beach clothes. Also, having beach chairs and other beach accessories was very useful and convenient. One of the neat things was that we got to actually meet Gary - the owner one evening. He is a great guy and very personable. We will definitely recommend this property to our family and friends as it is a great value and so convenient to everything. Keep up the great work Gary. Looking forward to visiting O'ahu again and utilizing one of your properties. Also, Thanks a Million for letting us do a late check out since out flight didn't depart until the evening hours. Trip of a lifetime

Wonderful apartment, terrific location, perfect trip. 7 of my family friends and I stayed here in June 2010 as part of my 40th birthday celebrations. Both the island and the apartment were everything we imagined it would be. This property is ideal for a larger group and the price (compared to 4 x hotel rooms) was fantastic. It was lovely to all be together but with plenty of room for all of us. The proximity to the beach and restaurants was perfect, we very much enjoyed sitting on the balcony and taking in the gorgeous view in a quiet moment. The property was perfectly equipped for a lovely holiday, boogie boards and beach chairs etc. I would thoroughly recommend the property to anyone. I hope we get to visit again one day from the UK. Thanks Gary for all your help and advice to make our holiday so great.

3 generations sharing a vacation together. This condo was great for that! #2203

We had several generations on vacation together. 6 people: ranging in age from 5 to 80. This condo was ideal for it. We never felt crowded in. The building is in a great spot. The owner, Gary, is very pleasant and helpful. The building staff are all friendly, from the manager to the security guard to the cleaning lady. Great restaurants very close by. The hotel next door has cheap internet if you didnt bring your own computer. As it was a family vacation, we spent all day on that beautiful beach. I recommend Hawaiian Ocean Rentals for surf lessons and board hire. They are to the right of the Duke Statue on the beach. Great bunch of people. Ask for Tommy (the surf instructor with the big wild hair). The kids had private lessons with him each morning then surfed for the rest of the day. Also recommend the Manakai catamaran sail, which is 'beached' in front of the Duke Statue. $20 for an hour, and its very relaxing. Again the staff and crew are great. Enjoy! TIP: the 2 car rental places across the road are NASTY! Dont use them!

Girls Fun Vacation

Five women shared one of these properties and managed quite well with just one bathroom. We loved the location of this unit as it was just off the main drag. The view was awesome from the balcony so were able to enjoy the morning and evening sun. Walk to the beach was quick and easy we also loved the convenience to the "Food Pantry" for groceries. There is a "FANTASTIC" Sushi restaurant right across the street from this building. This restaurant shares a building with a health food store so a bit hard to notice right away.. The restaurant only holds 20 people so you have to get there right at 6:30 to get a seat but it is absolutely the best sushi we have ever had...A must!! The owner was extremely accommodating in letting us stay a few hours longer as we had a very late night flight which was very much appreciated. I would say that the photos shown in this ad did not accurately reflect the apartment that we rented. We also found that the pool was in an odd location.

Waikiki Park Heights - Honolulu, HI Unit 2002

My goal on this trip was to give my wife and niece and experience of a lifetime. Renting this condo contributed mightily to attaining that goal. Upon arrival the place was immaculately clean and ready for us to just relax and enjoy our vacation. From the veranda (lanai in Hawaii) we were able to see Waikiki beach as well as a very good view of the ocean. The building is located about two blocks from the beach, but there is a direct line of sight to the beach. Each morning we had our coffee on the veranda and each evening we sat and enjoyed the view recounting the day's adventure. We rented a car, so we used the parking facility, which was first rate. From this location, we were able to take day trips to all parts of the island, which really enhanced our experience. My wife, who is a strong walker, would take a daily jaunt to Diamond Head and back. We also visited the Honolulu Zoo, which is in walking distance. The unit is in a prime location for restaurants, entertainment or just plain old people watching. The owner made several contacts with us to make sure we were satisfied with our unit. I appreciated his attentiveness and desire to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction. However, there was no need for him to do so. The place was exactly as listed, everything was in working order and the staff with whom we came in contact, were at the ready to assist in any manner possible. If you are considering a vacation to Hawaii and you don't want to be stuck in a hotel room, I would strongly urge you to consider renting this unit. All you need to do is get some groceries and move in. You too can have a dream vacation. Sincerely, George
