This Historic Hotel would have gotten a perfect review from me for its location and historical connection. However if you have a room on the backside as I did you will have a sleepless night as the surrounding pubs dump bins of bottles loudly into the trash as well as slam doors well into the wee hours of the morning with no care as to who they bother.

The hotel is well situated for getting about seeing the sights. It is in need of some TLC but having said that, the rooms are all clean. The staff are extremely friendly and can’t do enough to help.

The hotel was super close to shopping and has a wonderful view of Inverness Castle, it is also right on the river. Needs some updating and fixing. Parking is down the street a block at the Cathedral where you can pay for 24 hour parking.

Friendly staff. Bathroom was not the cleanest when we got there but we were offered another room. Wish there had been a hair dryer provided. Overall the location was perfect and the room was comfortable.

Booked this property because it was cheap and was using it as a base for a day trip to Isle of Skye. I knew it wouldn’t be great but didn’t expect it to be as awful and dirty as it was. Mold in the bathrooms, dust and dirty everywhere in the room and spills on the walls. Sheets seemed clean though. Would not stay again.

Loved the classical style of this fine Victorian era hotel. We enjoyed the en suite room with a very comfortable bed and fantastic view of the castle and river. The photographs of people and days long gone that lined the hallways and stairways were very interesting indeed and definitely added to the essence of the hotel. Staff were great, very helpful and friendly. Lots to like at this well located hotel. Definitely would recommend for a comfortable stay in Inverness.

Very dirty, smelly, cold, old, and dark. While it looks nice from the outside, the inside is disappointing. In the morning as we were leaving, we saw staff handling clean sheets that had been left directly on the floor, without any bags. The location is good, but unfortunately, that’s the only positive.

I know it's an old hotel but this one is really outdated guests can see ripped carpets in the main hall way, flaked paint and the bathroom in our room had no handwash! The breakfast was really bad and tasteless the beans were like gloop, I'm surprised folk were eating it! When checking out I wasn't asked about my stay, the receptionist just took my keys and gave me a quick bye, which I felt was quite rude and lacked customer service/care. We stayed for 1 night which was ok as we were out most of the time but I wouldn't stay any longer than that, I personally would not stay here again which is a shame.
