Rooms show some evidence of age (if you are picky about stuff like that), but it's an old Scottish Castle hotel... You want it to feel like an old Scottish Castle, don't you, and it absolutely does. ”

“Tarbert is such a sweet little town. The castle ruins were magical. The hotel itself - very convenient, easy parking, incredibly nice and very hardworking staff. The meals were SUPERB! The room was in good condition. The bed was a bit on the soft and saggy side. Great view though over the water. Hallways are clearly under ongoing repairs. The dinner dining area is quite nice. Breakfast area could use a refresh (especially that first booth seat). Overall, the Anchor Hotel was a great 2 night……
